Surviving Minnesota!

Erli: our two minutes of rain was much needed...but needed more. That's for sure. I am not a cinnamon drink -fake candy type person so I will be forever safe from fireball. yuck. I love cinnamon rolls just not red hots or big red gum...you know what I mean.
I love cinnamon but not that cinnamon drink stuff, never again. I do stoopid about once every ten years.

Well, we just got the mother of all storms.  Three big trees are down, all the fruit trees we planted last year, one tree fell on the asparagus, our nice 10-year old Linden tree we loved is gone, the swing set garden... the swing set is blown down (must be the three hanging flower pots I put on it yesterday did it in  ), branches everywhere, limbs everywhere, all my chicken and rabbit stuff is blown all over.  What a mess.  Oh well, I know what else I will be doing the rest of the week.  It is a good thing I pulled up the garden this weekend, it would be covered by tree now anyway.
Looking on the bright side, the house is fine, even though it shook pretty hard for a while.

Sorry to hear about your storm damage. Man, when it rains it pours! I think you've had enough issues this year! More than your fair share. I'm very glad your house and family came through it ok. Keeping you in my prayers.

Well, we got hardly any rain, again. We are really dry here, like every summer terrible.hoping to get some tonight though, fingers crossed.

Coffee, good to "see" you! Wow, you are a busy bee! Say, I think your heat lamp may be a little low? I think I'd check the temp under it and raise it if need be, maybe put it outside the cage... Those babies are so cute! I remember when you got your first chicks, how far you've come! So jealous here!

Good morning Cluckies, and all you other sleepy heads.

We have some sprinkles this morning, very slight sprinkles.

Ima little coffee pot short and stout - here is my handle - here is my spout . . . . .

Gotta geet myself to the store today to purchase a respectable coffee pot! Made in the USA and stovetop are my two criterias. Thought I would share my dilema with you all today.

Good Morning!

Morning . I changed my morning routine today . Got my coffee and laptop and came to town to get my connection . Sprinkles here . I avoided the stoopid people the past weekend .
Hey Ralphie you come up saturday and the finding bigfoot crew will be in Reamer listening to local stories and searching . You could tell them he hangs out around Togo . Maybe even get in the calling contest .Saw it in the local paper . We could hang out at the local cafe and have one of their bigfoot lunch specials .

I found a local wild blackberry growing on my place . Berries are small around pea size . Checked some roadside blackberries and they are the same size . Found some dewberries while pulling weeds . No berries on them . Sprayed the Canadian thistles . Darn border jumpers ! The birds are eating the Juneberries as fast as they start turning to a blue tint . I did sample some . Found a wild green growing on my place a couple years ago after I had some bulldozer work done . Seems to be in the goosefoot family . Spinach is in that group . Have not picked any this year . Think I will save some seed this year . Grows better than spinach .

Well Jerryse - your just a busy little gipper doing what you do at home. So you must not be on vaca. Enjoy your time, as I am sure you do. Say - that reminds me. I stopped by my son's home in Watertown for a few minutes after the parade and he was showing me something he grafted to another thing. Can't remember what but it reminded me of you.

Good Morning!
We have an old pot like that -never use it anymore but I'd love one made of stainless steel.

Morning..

All you early starters!

I had to get my day's hatch out of the hatcher. I got a surprise too. One of JJ's women had an egg that did not hatch 3 days ago when it was suppose to. It had hatched today.

I can't come up on Saturday, Jerry, I have been put on Grandpa daycare stand-by duty. I do not really care for crowds either. Also I promised Bigfoot I would not rat him out to the news media, in exchange he watches my cabin to keep it safe from burglars. Nothing scares off a burglar like 10'3" sasquatch on their butt.

Erli, we got a sprinkle too, I have not looked out the window at my high tech rain gauge yet, so exact amount is unknown at the moment.

Ivie, cute little coffee pot. We have a couple of those at the cabin, I seldom use it, as we have real coffee makers there too. The only reason we keep it is for Sasquatch, he likes them and doing coffee on the wood stove during the winter.

Also Ivie, don't worry about not remember what was grafted on what, at our age memory is such a fleeting thing and not as important as it use to be...

Most days I can't remember if I needed to go to the boys room or not.
