Surviving Minnesota!

Good morning chicken egg collectors ( I hope)! Time to make the donuts.

I want to sleep in but I have 10 chooks banging on the pop door I'm sure.

Yesterday was a clean sweep against Swanville at home for BB. JV and varsity.

Today another batch of soap, finish my second wool sock ( knitting), coffee Sunday for girl gossip. And more Homeland episodes (DH and I are binging)

Ok. For TV bugs. Has any body tried the internet TV box? Can find it on Amazon for $50? It's called the Ott TV box...? Well anyways it has all the episodes of about every series. The latest movies. I feel like we hit the jackpot and might be able to get rid of satelite tv bill! Or highly reduce it! Any ways if you pay too much for tv I recommend this.

Well off to do chicken chores. Weather is a bit cooler yet again.

Holms: careful with your cow.

And count blessings to all those that have grandparents and those that remember them well.
Mine died as a 6, 12, 17 and 20 year old. I h loved them but did not get them in my adult advice seeking years. I grabbed onto DH's grandma when we married. Loved her. But she was gone before the babies turned one. Time is too short for sure.

We have dishTV right now, as soon as I get my big fat lazy butt up the side of the house and put up a HDTV antennae , we will get rid of Dish. We use Roku on our TVs. It gives us all the shows we want and then some. It is cheap too. We pay, I think 8 bucks for Netflix, Hulu, and showtime. We get them on the stick. We get Amazon because we belong to Prime and shop on Amazon a lot.

The main reason we have not switched off Dish yet was because of the elections. I like the news channels which you cannot get without cable or satellite. I am fairly confident by the next election they will have those on Roku on a subscription bases which should be way cheaper than Dish.

On the Grandparent issue, my Kids knew 3 of their Great Grandparents which is amazing to me.

My three sons' were so very fortunate in that they had great grandparents. My ex - DH has a family that lives into their 90's. They are Norwegian. I mixed that blood line up for them. The amazing thing is that the kids remember the gg. How very fortunate they are.

Just got together with two of my sons' and their families last night for a birthday party. How fortunate I am.

How did grandbaby sitting go Ralphie?

I love Grandpa Daycare even at night... It was great. With Judy there I did not even have to change diapers.....

I spent the night playing with the kids and getting snuggles. I know I might be prejudice, but I have the best Grandkids in the whole world...

It could be a conversation piece. Then my visitors would inch toward the door and run! Can you hear it? Now these ashes in this jar are Tess's. She was an ISA and one of my first six birds. Three of the others were Eagle food and the first that passed from those six was from Wry neck. Now this set of ashes is from 20?? and they were --------- who passed in 20 --. Golly I miss my birds. ? Oh yes, sometimes its only a leg left but I will burn even that when we are done eating and create ashes so I can remember that bird. All these baby food jars . . . . .

This could become quite the conversation while standing around the fireplace mantle.

ROFL... I could.... And if you could get Tom back after he passes, your DH could tell everyone one about their checkered past!!

Sure glad I do not have a fireplace.

THAT FACE!!! Oh my gossssssh. What in the world kind of dog is he?

I always snort in disgust at those fancy (shall not be named) dog food commercials. "Fresh salmon" "Non hormone chicken breast" "Beef Filet Mignon"... Cmon! Dogs eat feces! And afterbirth! They LOVE it....they prefer it to real food actually

He's a Rottweiler. 140lbs of pure stupidity. I couldn't ask for a better dog though. Well, aside from the constant poop eating. We also have to keep him away from the baby....he's so big that he's clumsy. No fault of his own.

I'd also have some culls from silkie baby pens already. There's a 6 week old black that is starting to develop some gold in hackles I'd let go for $10. Color leakage hints at cockerel, but no other signs of sex yet. I'd also have a 3 month old partridge pullet that just isn't tucking her wings as tight as I'd like. Cute lil fluff ball but I'm pretty fussy when it comes to keeping show stock. I'd let her go for $25.

Are blue partridge and red partridge actually colors? Or is the color just termed partridge and there's color leakage issues?

I cannot get enough of this pullets cushion!!! I can not wait to take her to state fair!!

If an old tea drinking english woman were to be a chicken, this would be it!

What do you use for a mold? I've been slowly collecting stuff to make soap.
