Surviving Minnesota!

It's sunny and in the 40°s here. I got lucky and happened to be outside while the "last?" squirrel was dining on Russian Olives. Fortunately she won't be adding to their population. I suspect a neighbor of trapping them in town and releasing them here.

I am giving serious consideration to trapping squirrels and moving them back to the city where they belong..

(sorry to you nice city people, but some of your bad neighbors make it hard for us country folk to love ya).

If you’re the one dropping squirrels off at the wildlife refuge sign.. or driving your snowmobile through my yard... I am talking to you!

better squirrels than the opossums and raccoons that get dropped off by me.

Happy birthday (belated) Erli!

This morning my older lavender Ameraucana—little pearl had a big crop already. Tonight she has the biggest. Sigh. She’s either slow or blocked I’m guessing. So ... tonight I brought her up and syringed a good amount of olive oil in her beak. and gently massaged. I’m going to figure out a birdy bra at the sewing machine and get that crop lifted up. No scratch for her and hopefully that crop is a little more empty. Maybe I should get on it and get the bra on her tonight.

I was late letting them out this Am... so I ldk if she had already ate a bunch of feed. Need to sort her out another morning before I call it. I tried to smell for sour breath. But could only smell the raspberry I treated her with for taking her olive oil.:D

Camo crop bra for Pearl tomorrow. (Up North SHE Outdoors Girl you know-) Her water cup ready for isolation cage so she doesn’t get to feed for 12 hours. Oil and light massage three times daily. I’m about ready for this project to be over already.

Good luck BC...

Interesting factoid!!

The LED lightbulb first hi the commercial market in 1944!!

I figured this out..

I just changed LED bulbs in the living room for the third time. Each bulb has a 25 year life span according to the box.

So 1944 was when they hit the market... and I must have skipped a few birthdays cause I didn’t think I was that old.

LOL
They get us by the lifespan years... The fine print says a year is only a few hours each day

Love the crop bra!

Speaking of chainsaw work......do NOT and I repeat do NOT let @camboy77 unattended with a chainsaw for more than a minute. I made the mistake of going Black Friday shopping.....I left when it was dark and arrived home when it was dark. I heard mutterings of "Has Mom seen what we did?" Yup.....the whole beautiful privacy grove of trees gone! These trees (overgrown hedges) were breathtakingly beautiful in the Fall. All other seasons they were something to be desired.... My yard looks bare and he claims he is not done yet, a few more to remove. I guess my pajama runs to check on the chickies are over. :hit
