Surviving Minnesota!

I found a list but will have to find it again.

Were you on this thread before or is this your first time??

The only chickens she has now are Basque and Blue Bresse. She has some waterfowl and Sweetgrass turkeys too. She has a lot more but her barns burned down a couple of years ago and she lost several breeds including Buckeyes, Coronation Sussex, Delawares, and several others.

Sprout. Is the fleet farm brand. I want to say it's bagged and distributed from Wisconsin.

Ralphie for some reason I want to say MNHomestead BYCer may have Sussex. I think she had SFHs and I don't know for sure what else. She is in Milaca Cambridge area. Might be worth a PM.

The people on the turkey site have come up with a rating system for turkeys "tameness".

I think it is worth mentioning here for use describing chickens and other fowl.

I think it is genius.

Lappers ----- Likes to be held and petted
Tolorants----- Will tolerate being held and petted but obviously does not eat it up like a lapper does.
Lurkys----- Hang around you, follow you, but will not allow themselves to be held.
Belly Buttons---- Kind of self explanatory. I use the same term there as here to sneak by the censor..

And in other good news. I have a picture of one of my turkeys on Porters turkey site now! He is a famous turkey! They asked if they could use my picture as they did not have one, He even credited the picture to me!
