Hello MapleBend. The Midget Whites are a rarity, but I will attempt to get you a breeder or two to contact You are not far from me by the way.
BogTown and Ivie may real age is neither 95 or 37 but close to being in the middle of the two. I still think I look pretty good for a guy who is 95!
I feel your pain Ralphie with the waterer project. Good luck with making it work for you..

I got my heated water bowls out tonight. All my hog pan waterers were solid ice. My how quickly that came!
I have 1 rubber pan and need to get at least one more for morning water refills (stomp out when frozen)

And ralphie you are darn right! It doesn't mater how many layers you have on. It bites right through! Looks like I will be firing the stove in my shop tomorrow!

MapleBend, Sand Hill Preservation Poultry may have Midget Whites available in 2016? Duane Urch in Owatonna has Beltsville Whites available I think, and they are very close to the same as Midgets.
I will attempt to locate others as well.

If you go to the Livestock Conservancy website, they have a section which will direct you to breeders of specific breeds. You will find several Midget White breeders listed.

Aha, ejb... I need to trust my gut instincts more. Lol. Just retired. That's my guess.

Welcome maplebendfarm.

The kids and DH went over to the inlaws for deer heart, pancakes and syrup with wild Canadian blueberries. I've got the house to myself to do what I want. So I'm doing two loads of laundry and submitting malarkey on BYC. Got dishes done. Fireplace cooking. Fat pants on a cup of coco. Start typing chicken peeps.

Ralphie you could try no watering until July but you might have turkey jerkey by then.

Baha hahaha. Knee slapper.

Kloppers get in your warm house.

Well next 3 days we won't go below freezing so the app says on my phone. I'll figure out my water set up in the run this weekend.

Inside the coop it was 28 degrees at roost time. No frost on my 3 windows. So I'm liking Reflectix so far. I also have brand new pine shavings absorbing moisture out of the air I suppose too.

Maple bend would you be willing to share some photos and or description of your turkey setup? I'm currently working on convincing DW we need to raise some BBBs next year. Trying to absorb as much info as possible to make my gameplan

Grabbing my calculator....

Thanks. I was hoping the heater would keep the drinking cups from freezing. Now I am not so sure.

Hi all! We have a small hobby farm in Tamarack, MN. Currently we raise meat and egg chickens, BBB turkeys and indian runner ducks. I am looking at getting into Midget White Turkeys instead of the BBB. Anyone know of any breeders?

Hi Maplebendfarm..

I have turkeys but no midget whites, Mine will be the really thirsty ones come the first of June.

Darn! I was hoping you would rave about the success of the drinker cups! then i was going to go get a deicer from FF and put my drinker cup buckets out. Mine are only in 5 gallon buckets so maybe the de-icer would keep the whole unit warmer than your 30+ gallon one and thus keep the cups thawed? I will probably end up at FF tomorrow anyways so might look into one...
