Surviving Minnesota!

Ralphie our car chatter may have jinxed me. I just picked my truck up from an oil change. Sounds like I am drastically over due for new fluid in the transfer case and differentials. Also my lower ball joints are due. Looks like I will be working on my truck next week!

I do like paying the local shop for oil changes. They do it cheap and do good work plus they tell me things like this when I don't have time to be crawling under my truck checking the diff oils. Worth the money to save the time and mess!

I'm a little irked because the fluids are part of the 150k mile service schedule. I bought my truck with 147k on it. You think the dealership would have checked the fluid and replaced it before the sale but no... This truck is turning out to be a lemon and I don't think I will be buying another truck from them!

Ralphie, unless you photoshopped those eggs they are a very nice shade of blue. I know that you believed Ole to be hard on his harem, but he appears to have produced some good pullets.
Knock on wood, I don't have any broody hens of any breed at this point. That is likely to change just as I want to collect hatching eggs?

It has been so windy here for the last three days that it is hard to believe it can continue much longer. I have some repairs to make and fallen trees to cut up. The temp is about 40 degrees, but it feels like 10.

I am having a hard time getting my new pens and coops built due to not wanting to be out in these elements.

DH turned the furnace on last night and it brought my bator temp up a good degree or so. He simply doesn't understand the consequences of such actions. It also makes me think I really need to get rid of my wafer technology styro bator. However, I find that still air is a bit more forgiving when it comes to higher temps.

Has anybody seen this Ameraucana listing for Welps Hatchery? I'm curious to know when I'll get a magical yellow egg. I think never seems reasonable.

Wow that is kind of deceptive!

Your Right! BYC has agreed to give you Ralphie's prize to Australia and to give Ralphie $30 to shop at their store. Congratulations!

We are still negotiating the trip. There is a chance I will prevail. Besides would they just give Hemmingway 30 bucks?

EJB, no photoshopping other than cropping. Ole did give me nice egg color. I am hoping Sven gives me even better. Sven should have the blue egg gene and he is a lot gentler on the girls.

I am trying to hatch in the 1202 ( second one) It is not going well, I have resisted looking but this morning I was only at 50% moisture and had only one egg pipped.
