Awesome photos! I love your turkey! And you have such a beautiful Pekin!!! What happened to that chicken's beak?
Oh, what kind of camera do you use?

Ouch! Thanks! The wind slammed a door on her beak. I had to hand feed her for a week or two before she could figure out how to eat without it but now she's happy!
It's a Nikon D5000
My bet is she use to be an egg eater....
I Found my problem with the "loaded" eggs.
One of the legbars in the white capable is breaking and eating them, in that coop. It ate the end of the loaded eggs and stopped. The rest is there. I have one more nest box with a loaded egg in it. I also put a live trap on the floor, for ground crawlers.
One of my indoor Dominiques is an egg eater. I think the rooster and other hen will eat them once they are broken open though. They are all in 3 cages. I put a loaded egg in each coop, the rooster and one hen ignored it. The Hen I had in New Ulm broke her egg open and choked most of it down. I will fix her a hotter egg tomorrow.
Also one of the PC will break the eggs open, all three in that cage will eat the opened egg. but they left 2/3rds of the egg, They will get a hotter egg tomorrow too.
I left one in the outdoor Dominiques pen too as I have not gotten a lot of eggs there either, I will see if that egg is whole tomorrow.
M3+2..... Did the turkey have freezer burn on it? IT would be good, maybe... I would feed the birds....![]()
I know @Minniechickmama Does not like the Pollacks, but I am really liking them. They are so funny. The rooster will follow me around the inside of his cage and jump at me if I get too close. If I open the door and grab him he is meek and mellow. The girls are just sweethearts, dumb, but sweet. They lay 5-6 eggs each a week. The eggs are pretty good size. The birds have even gotten quite large. They are pretty neat and clean and do not eat eggs, so they are good birds to me....
BC I am not a knife fan either. However, I might try a machete next time. I am thinking a "slip knot" around the neck to pull the head down when they are in the cone. No matter what it is never fun or pretty.
My coops went for sweet smelling to stinky today. I thought I Was doing ok and today the sour smell was over whelming I cleaned a few cages I have a ton to do now.
Ralph I hate to break it to you but chickens can't taste heat. Or so I have been told. But it would make sense cuz I feed mine Jalapeños and they love them.
LOL the Polish can't see the eggs! That's why!
My black cockerel died yesterday so I contacted the breeder.
I'm thinking of getting a Black pullet, possibly a splash cock. I was hoping for a black cock and splash pullet but he doesn't have any splash pullets right now...
Which one do you guys like? The 2nd one is one of his breeders right now
