Surviving Minnesota!

Rainy dark day here . Severe wind advisory tonight and tomorrow . So tired of the weather .

I can imagine, I am so tired of plowing snow, breaking things and winter in general....
I am thinking about moving south next winter somewhere warm like Peoria....

I got 7 eggs today.. 3 Cream legbars for hatching and 4 turkey eggs for eating.

Better make that Peoria Arizona . Very windy here . Predicting 8 degrees tomorrow morning . So falling temps all day .

The temps have fallen throughout the day here. We don't seem to have gotten much new snow last night, but it is very difficult to tell. The wind is so strong that the snow keeps moving in clouds and drifting is an issue.
We have definitely broken the record for total snow fall for the month of February and more to come. I am hoping for a very strong wind from the N or NE to move some to the Mn Banana Belt. They will need the moisture for spring crops.

Better send Ralphie some Musk Ox . He is gonna need a new cash crop in the former banana belt .

I am thinking I might Jerry!

This is an old fashioned winter. It never ends, is cold and snows constantly.
We have 3 days of snow ahead. We have a ton of Junco's eating at the feeders. Not a good sign for an early spring.

I washed the lids to my Sap buckets today. I am disinfecting them now....(Why do some of you think I am a germophobe?),,,

I will do the buckets tomorrow and hopefully set out some buckets this week.

The lone turkey is on it's last leg. I hatched 4 days early, so problems were to be expected. It ended up with a flayed leg. It did not seem to want to eat or drink. I have at least one more that is hatching now. It is pipped we are on schedule with that one and the rest. Tomorrow and tuesday should be hatch day.

Judy has discovered the basement birds.....I am still alive so it went better than expected. Of course, she claims she smelled something coming from the basement. The good thing is she changed all their pads and did not kick them out of the house...

She almost cried over the dying turkey poult. Sometimes she acts like she has a heart and is not a witch. BUT I know that is an act to catch me of guard....

I tried to clear the4 driveway today. It was blown tight. I made a path large enough for the cars to go down, I hope. My ATV started over heating. So another thing to fix this spring. (if it ever comes). I am going to make little shelter around it out of campaign signs and try and heat it with the fish house stove. I think the oil cooler might be packed with snow and ice. Otherwise I am at a loss as to why it is overheating. It is an arctic cat and does not have a radiator.

I have broke the winch cable/cord a couple times this week, so that needs to be replaced too. Donations and suggestions or help repairing things will be gladly accepted.

I got another Cream legbar egg today, and two layer eggs, 5 turkey eggs. Anyone need turkey eggs?

I am going to mix up a small batch of Marak's vaccine, I mean small, I only need enough for 3 chicks. I hope I can get that to work. I hate to waste a 50 dose batch on 3 chicks.

It is the Witch's birthday today. She turned old today. She does not seem to like to be reminded of it for some reason. I told her to look on the bright side she can get the Senior discount every where now.....

We were going out to eat but the weather nixed that idea. I had planned to go to Santiago for food and the meat raffle.....(pronounced San Diego for you non-locals)...

Well, I have you all updated.
