Swedish Flower Hen Thread

Do Swedish Flower boys develop slower than boys in other breeds? Here's a more recent pic of the one I'm not sure about. Will be 6 weeks old this weekend. Photo taken yesterday. By this age I'm usually certain which are boys. This one's comb is a bit larger than my other Swedish Flower which makes me suspicious.

No clue, this is my first time with swedish flower chicks too, and they're really hard to tell! I have 4 at 6 weeks of age as well, two of which I am certain are boys. They have the larger redish combs and developing some big redish wattles.
One, i'm not sure about looks the same as your black and white one here. Larger comb, no wattles, but with a slight pink hue but nothing like the other two. The other one we have (that looks like the chick in the background) is for sure a pullet, has the smaller comb, no wattles and no pink.

I'm curious to see what yours turns out to be and mine! I'm still hopeful it's a pullet that is just with a bigger comb and maybe early maturing.

I would be a little disappointed if out of the 4 who hatched, 3 were roos. I'll be getting more hatching eggs in the spring though from another breeder, so we'll see then too.

As for the development, I don't think they are slower growth. I can tell by 2-3 weeks old on my BCM's who's what but on the swedish flowers, they developed the exact same (at least feathering and size growth). Except for the combs at about 4-5 weeks old when I started realizing I didn't have all pullets

there does seem to be a lot of slow starters in the Swedish flower breed. Some people are even culling the late bloomers from their flock. I would say your black is a cockerel.

Thank you @minihorse927 I have accepted the fact (after looking at them closely again today) that they are indeed all three roos. Pretty boys, but still boys so most likely to be dinner unless i have buyers.

you're welcome. Sorry about them all being boys comma maybe you can sell them off. I can usually get rid of my Rare Breed cockerels but I am always stuck with regular or mix breed cockerels.
