Hi, welcome to BYC!My Swedish flower hens have FINALLY started to lay. They chose the coldest week of the year to do it!

Hi, I didn't know you were interested in SFH. I love them. Did you know we have a few good breeders in Washington, too? I tried adding them to my tiny flock this year by getting hatching eggs locally. Unfortunately I had terrible luck between hatching out too many cockerels and being introduced to a very sneeky pigeon hawk. I didn't even know about pigeon hawks. Now I do! Right now I have just one cockerel and no pullets.
I'd love to see more breeders locally, and more bloodlines. I've been drooling over the pictures.
too bad you're so far away. I have been searching for a black based crested rooster to add to my flock.Hi All, I just wanted to drop in and get acquainted. I've been with BYC for a long time, but foolishly hadn't sought out the SFH thread. I love this breed and wish I could have a large flock of them! Maybe some day! I was attempting to add a couple to my tiny flock of layers this year, but in the end I have just one pretty cockerel. It's the first time I've even kept a cockerel long enough to see what he's like as an adult. Beautiful. But of course noisy. lol Right now I'm trying to find this boy a new home. Since not a lot of people in this area are familiar with the breed there's only a small market. He may have to go to freezer camp soon unless I can find him a new home.If you, or a friend, is interested please PM me. He was hatched Aug. 7. Father came from Green Fire, mom from a breeder in E. Wash.
