Thnx for all the info! The only reason I mentioned the crested to crested breeding is a few people said that vaulted skull can result in it and that's not a desired trait in SFH. I LOVE this thread! Everyone on here is so helpful!!

All of my boys started out with a crooked comb but then they straightened out, except for the crested birds. Theirs tended to stay a little wavy.
All of my crested birds have crooked combs.I noticed BB has a crooked comb. Two of mine do too. Does anyone think this is something to think about when breeding, or should we just work on increasing numbers currently?
Good luck! You are due for some!!Just candled my eggs that are due to hatch 10/17 9 are growing including the 2 cracked ones that I put wax on. They were all moving, LOTS! I'm not getting my hopes up on this hatch however.![]()

i don't usually worry about air cells, but when in doubt i hold off putting in the hatcher until i see drawdown occur. then they are usually good to go. but then i dry incubate so either they've lost what humidity they're going to, or not. either way they still go in lockdown.Thnx Everyone!!!Big hugs to all!![]()
So how do I know if the air cells are the right size? I didn't trace them when I put them in.Should I check them again between now and lockdown on Monday and trace that one?![]()
