Swedish Flower Hen Thread

Sad news my little white SFH from KI4got was killed by a predator yesterday....so sad. She was a cool little girl.
Hopefully my 7SFH eggs due tues/wed will hatch.

Oh - I'm so sorry for your loss! Hugs! Keeping my fingers crossed you get a good hatch!

Who's teaching the school? This is what I do for both cattle and sheep dairies all across the country... was curious who was teaching this one...
How cool is that? My youngest is a cow fanatic. She has a room full of stuffed cows and she can't go anywhere without her BeanieBaby "Daisy" cow (so we have 4 of them now just in case!) LOL! We took her to the dairy farm at VA Tech last year and she was thrilled. I made a statement about the smell and she gave me the look of death and said, "Cows NO smell! Cows beeeautiful!"

The boys look great!

We LOVE them! Thank you SO much for allowing me to have them!!!

Any opinions on this boy?
I think he is beautiful!
I have one like him, a son of my favorite roo, Bazinga, that I have decided to keep.
And to add to the discussion of broodiness, yes, I have one hen who has gone broody on me twice and now a different girl has gone that direction. So, that is 2 out of my 4 that have shown an inclination.
Penny has been an excellent mom, and Amy is being very protective of her clutch of eggs.

Well, cutting the numbers makes my feed go further, lol. If only I could find homes for a couple others. I suspect I have 2 more roosters in the May group, 2 in the grow out pen from April and 5 more from my Februart and March groups. I can't decide which ones I want to keep!

so I have been expecting to wait till day 23 but today (day 21) one of my SFH eggs from wildhorseannie (Bazinga baby) hatched!!!!!

Congrats!!!

well, at least one of my sfh girls is laying... mostly white eggs. found 4 of them under a hidden broody today so they're in the incubator. no idea who the 'baby daddy be' LOL but i'm sure we'll figure it out eventually. weeble seems to have the most success. had a weeble-dork, a weeble-dotte and a weeble-ee hatch out couple days ago now... I know who the eggs came from, simply by color, and the babies had either dark legs, fuzzy legs or crest. that boy sure does get around! so maybe we've got some weeble-swedes on the way.
