I want to give you an update on my hen. Poor girl, she was separated from her flock-mates for a few weeks there, getting all sorts of treatment from saline flushes, terramycin ointment, antibiotic in her water, squeezing out matter, and then finally the package from Poultryman arrived with the 1 Eye 1 Drop 1 Time medication.
There were no instructions included, so I just gave her 1 drop in the eye each day. The infection seemed to have gone so deep. But after 2-3 days with those drops the yellow infected matter seemed to go away. The eye still doesn't look normal, it's still cloudy & may never heal back to the way it once was.
But she started to lay eggs again, and I went ahead & put her back with her flock. It took a few days of hazing, but she's finally being accepted, and accepting of being there & not in her separate cage.
I can't help but wonder if her eye could have healed better if I'd had that medication sooner. Even though I ordered extra items to make my total over $50 & receive free shipping, Poultryman sent my package parcel post and it took almost 2 weeks to arrive. They also sent an item that was visably aged & dirty and over 2 years past its expiration date! They offered no apology for this but said they'd send a replacement, I guess it's also coming parcel post, it's been almost 2 weeks and it hasn't arrived.
I think the 1 Eye 1 Drop 1 Time medication is a good thing to have on hand for eye injuries/infections, I'll be interested to see if it's more affective if applied immediately. But I don't think I'll order it from Poultryman again.
