Swollen eye

This morning I went to let my girls out and noticed one of my hens Jazzy had a swollen eye. I’m not really sure what happened. It just showed up this morning. Any ideas on what it is?

The way the light hits it it appears to have an injury? Sometimes it's hard to tell in pictures with light and angles. She may have been pecked in the eye or something similar. I would flush the eye well with sterile saline, make sure there is no debris in there and then apply terramycin eye ointment (most tractor supplies carry it) or plain neosporin in the eye 2 -3 times a day to prevent infection. If it's not injury, then it could be a respiratory infection, so I would look for any other symptoms of that.

Thank you soooo much. I actually just put it on for the 2nd time today. I figured it’s would help. I will keep you updated!! And she doesn’t have discharge and she isn’t breathing funky so I’m going to say it’s an injury to her eye
