I had previously set up a laptop for my little siblings to fight over use with Windows on it. I set up another one with Linux Mint on it today and they were fighting over who gets to use the Linux laptop.

No. It seems to work fine with the one it came with. The touchscreen glitches out after some use and the Wi-Fi disables itself after around 10 minutes or so of use.

I updated Ubuntu. I suppose I’ll see what happens after using it a bit.

It seems like the touchscreen and wifi fixed after update and switch to surface kernel, but the audio seems to remain messed up. It will play for around 5 minutes or so and then play a steady tone for the rest of the time the audio device is "active" (around 10 seconds or so after audio quits playing). I'm trying some solutions to see if I can fix it.

I update my computer and the sleep quit working again. Had to go in and change a line in the NVIDIA drivers. Ugh. I always tell people to avoid Nvidia if they plan to use Linux for reasons like this.

My grandfather gave me a couple old computers. One of them is a Dell with a late Pentium 4 Presshot CPU (I think) and the other a early Core i3 HP. The Dell functions, thought the motherboard has terrible expandability (a single PCIe 1x slot and two PCI slots) and the HP has a dead power supply (it clicks every second and does not turn on).
