speaking of roosters, i think i have a solution to your roosterless situation also. when you were here you said you wanted one but you didn't really have the space. but... if you send some of your older girls to the freezer, a MINI rooster would fit in just fine! i have an amazing looking Silkie/EE cross that you should really take home with you. he's about half the size of my big roos and about 1.5 times the size of my Silkies.

here's a pic of him and his brother. the one i need to rehome is in the front. they look exactly alike, except the front one has a black tail instead of white.

they are both proving to be very good little flock guardians and are enthusiastic but not rough in their other, er, duties. Percy is their daddy, so you might end up with one of your very own!

Hey neighbors! Just wanted to bring to people's attention the listing I have up for roosters. I got all sorts.... just giving them a chance at being flock leaders before I process. I do not want to sell or give them out for anything other then breeders or flock leaders. If anyone eats them, it will be me.

They are in "8 weeks and up" of the auction listings.

Hope everyone is weathering alright!

I think LC Feeds the 16% pellet and the 22% pellet are both like $10.79 a bag. Pretty sure. The number is 865-816-six four zero zero.
(ETA: that phone number is LC Feeds number, not my own)

sooooooo, it's raining buckets and the little roos look like drowned rats... i'm going to post some more pics from a few months ago and a pic of another roo i had that looks very similar to the black and white one i have to sell.

the two roos at 3 months: you can see that they both have muffs and dark legs

the black and white one at 3 months

this is the black and white roo i had previously. the little roo i'm selling now looks VERY similar to this one, except his head is more white and his legs are a bit darker. but he's got that same beautiful, bottle black tail.

and, again, here's Percy, the father of the two for sale. the white roo i'm selling looks IDENTICAL to Percy. the only way i can tell them apart is that Percy is heavier bodied (being 8 months older) and has longer spurs.

just let me know if you think you are interested. you are welcome to come see them in person if you'd like, whenever it stops raining.

Yeah, I think I'll have to see them first. But I'm gonna send you a pm with my phone number if you want to call me tomorrow when its dryer, I HAVE to go buy feed tomorrow I've been busy allll day! It's the meaties feed, and they are too low on food for me not to go.

Are they open tomorrow? i need feed too, but it was way too wet today. My remaining layer pellets got mixed with scratch and dumped in the feeders to make due until then LOL.

I can't make myself process my own roosters, so I am ALWAYS willing to give away free roosters. Want any more? LOL. I have 3 in that age group. A black with red mixed in, white with blue splashes and Mr Blue Wheaten. I'm keeping the 4th rooster, the Cochin/Giant cross

I took new pix today. Not sure if I mentioned before....he is feather legged. I have 3 olive egger hens and a million roosters, so its hard to say who went into the cross. I have a black copper maransXameracuana hen that is feather legged, so I assume that is the mom....since the only Blue Wheaten I have is my Ameracauna rooster.

(ignore the poopy walls....that brooder is in dire need of a scrub if these hens would stop going broody!)

Those are 2 fine looking roos. Sadly, I want to downsize my flock. I have 2 Australorps hens right now that my others won't accept, so it's take them to the roost with the others every evening and back to their own place every morning. They've got it all figured out now and just follow me to their place. One of them jumps right up on the roost and the other I have to pick up and put in place. Anyway, what I'm getting at is, I'm afraid that little man wouldn't stand a chance with my mean hens. Maybe after this winter is over and I've culled out some I'll give it another thought.

I think if I breed him then it'll be to my 2 lavender d'uccles. They're a little older than you're little guy and if I stick him in with them they'll grow up together.

Anyone near cookeville raise turkeys? I am looking to get some turkys in spring.
Or want to split an order?

Please pm me with info.

@ Bibliophile birds- Now that I've studied the photos, does the young black and white one have a single comb? If so, I'd prefer the young Percy but you never told me whether or not the hens from the same group laid blue eggs or brown.
@ NellaBean- I def want one of the chicks, I like Mr Blue wheaten but would also like to see the other white chick you said you had.

they both have pea combs. both of the boys hatched out of blue eggs from my EE hens. i know Percy is the father of the white one, but there is always a chance that the black and white one is carrying brown egg genes from one of my other roosters. i don't THINK so because he doesn't look a thing like a Buff Orp or Buff Brahma, but it's possible.

i've had company since last night, but they just left so i'll give you a call in a bit and we can make a plan!

eta: all the EEs that i hatched this year were boys. like i said, the two that are for sale are from blue eggs so they SHOULD be carrying the blue egg gene but i can't make any guarantees.
