Coop progress pics -- the basic frame and walls are done. The Husband just needs to cut out the pop door into the run (covered and adjoining this coop), add the nest boxes and fashion the door for egg retrieval, put up the roosts and poop boards ... and add the hardware cloth. Coop: 5x6 Attached Run: 6x9 (six birds) **If you see anything that needs attention, please let me know! We're newbies. :) If you want to see the before pics, they are here. PEOPLE SIDE/FOOD STORAGE People door and visual of the ventilation vents and windows at the top of each interior wall. We went with vinyl flooring over the existing wooden floor. Visual of how interior layout will be People Entrance/Nest Box World How much light is available when the people door is shut.

I used to have some good info of frizzles and sizzles.. I'll have to look it up again.. I didn't have any frizzles or sizzles at the time.. so I shelved it away.. lol

How does one find the map to find enablers or to post where your from.

I'm not on the map.. (I like to hide).. but I'm near Killeen / Lampasas

(I do exist.. really.. some peeps here have met me much to their dismay!)

I like the silkied but never got real interested in the frizzle sizzle thing. Sounds like more work than I'd want to mess with

the problem with the frizzled gene is you only want to breed frizzled to non frizzled.. otherwise you can end up with a "double frizzled" bird.. they tend to have very fragile feathers and also bald spots!

I had the opportunity to meet Curtis today (GaryDean26) and snag a pair of his Euskal Oiloas

nice setup and pretty birds!


and now I have an adult pair to go with the chicks I have been hatching out (plus some fresh EO eggs)!




lol.. the gps did take us on the "scenic route".. we really need to update the maps in that thing!
