I planned for chicken math, I want 2 hens, but building a coop for 5 with enough ventilation for 10.....if I get more then 3 my landlord will kill me, so I'm hoping to use that as motivation to not get out of control.

You folks in the Austin/San Antonio corridor might check out the Comal Country Fair this week-end in New Braunfels. They have a backyard chicken show, and it is fun to see all the different breeds and talk to other chicken people.

Yay! Thanks for letting us know. Hopefully, I can talk my sweetie into taking me. I am guessing the chickens will be there on Saturday? Does anyone know if they will be having a chicken sale also?

I did fall madly in love with a little red cochin -- it was so friendly and just kept reaching her neck out of the cage for attention.
