Come to the Austin Funky Chicken Coop tour on Apri 23, and you will see a lot of ideas for coops, some interesting chickens & people, and have an opportunity to talk with the coop owners.

Also come to the 2011 Texas Chickenstock in San Marcos on May 14. You will meet other BYC members and chicken enthusiasts. It is another opportunity to ask questions.

I would LOVE to go, but with the prices of gas and seeing as how I drive a 4x4 truck. I wont be able to make it.

Howdy fellow Texans,

So I really want to get chickens but my husband wants me to see what I'm going to be getting myself into. So that said, I live in San Antonio, Northwest side, anyone else out there in San Antonio that wouldn't mind giving me a tour of their coop and maybe be a mentor to a new chicken owner wanna be? I'm a mostly stay at home mom so I'm available most days to make plans as long as you don't mind my two year old son taging along.

I live downtown San Antonio (King William Area-Guenther street) .... I have 4 chickens and a little coop and run and a very small backyard. My chickens are mainly pets but I would love to show you around. I just got my chickens last year and I am not an expert but I can tell you everything that I have been through.... good and bad.

I know there are people with chickens closer to you but if you want to come by, just let me know.

Hello, did any one go to the fancy feathers 4-h on April 2, I went and it was so much! I am seeing some people from San Antonio and the show was in new Braunfels, I live in fort worth ( long drive ) but it was worth it!

Wow, Fort Worth is a quite a drive, but it was a pretty day!

At fancy Feathers, weren't those kids soooo cute that were doing the chicken calls and showmanship? I just couldn't get over how adorable and poised they were.

I love chicken shows... I wish I had gone to some before I got my chickens... I would have gotten a variety of chickens rather than just all silkies. But, I love my little silkie girls and wouldn't trade them for anything but if I ever have more room, I have a list of chickens I want!

Are you driving in for the Austin Funky Chicken Coop Tour or Chickenstock?
