It's ok, because when the ducks get there, you will be so busy with them that you won't even think about the missing favorite! Plus, the shortage is a really good excuse to pick up a couple of extras in the spring when everyone is hatching!!!
Thanks :) you're ight, these girls are so adorable I can't imagine it differently. And maybe I'll add a another 1 or 2 in the spring and nix the chickens. I sure hope we end up liking duck eggs, lol!

My little girls. They are almost 19 weeks old

My Light Brahmas. I'm guessing they are around 7 months, one hen is giving me an egg every other day.

My newest addition to the flock. 28 eel Blue Orpington rooster. I am going to add a buff Brahma rooster in the spring. I'm going to breed the Brahmas for meat.

I'm having the same problem finding local breeders for the breeds I'm looking for. My Buff Brahmas came from Ideal Poultry and they look pretty good for hatchery birds, but I'm not really looking for "show" birds just good healthy birds.

I live out in Cleveland, tx is nice but the school isn't very good all the towns you named would be good ones just know that our real estate market out here is crazy right now..
I am about 30 miles North of you or so. But, I agree, Cleveland has a weird vibe going on. It has a lot more chain stores, but when I moved out here a long time ago, the reality company said the same thing.

I did find one lady out in crosby I been getting birds from and I have had no issues with any of them she has some rarer breeds to...I also met a lady from Dayton had really good birds show quality but her prices were to much for me and my needs she even had bielfelders believe it or not

Wday, do you know if she has buff Brahmas? I really watch a rooster for my BB girls. If I can't find any local I'm going to order from Ideal in February. I'm going to get some hens as well. Going to order 15.

I get sad that no one really has ducks locally. I would love to find some magpies but I think I will have to go with Ideal as well to get those.
