Heads up, it's warming up in Texas. Nephew in for weekend. And within first 5 minutes he has found 2 scorpions, a snake, a snake bite and set up snake/scorpion eutopia in a bucket with heat lamp.

Durn. I was upset at finding a yellow jacket building a nest in my coop. But there was a skunk in there along with a dead hen a few days ago. We still don't know how it got in.

I've got something that meows instead of peeps in the chick room! Last night while clearing old wood we found a tiny malnourished orange tabby kitten. We know the mother all too well, a calico that has had over 3 dozen litters in the past few years. We knew our boxer dogs would leap at the chance to play with the "toy" of a kitten so we took him in. Now I feed him every 2 1/2 hours and he has been adopted into our family! Meet Milo!

Snake bite!!

OUCH! Which is worse.... garter snake bite or scorpion sting??

We saw our first snake last night.

Sorry for your loss. We had a skunk the other morning. Never saw him but boy did we smell him. I thought our dog had gotten hit for sure but she's clean. I sure hope she ran the thing off. We are picking up another Pyrenees this Sat. Just in time for all of the Spring critters.

LOL, that was going to be my guess but then I just could not imagine being bitten by a snake.
