I know this is an old post but just found it! Thanks for that short clip. Haven't heard that sound since I left North Texas 33 years ago.I thought I would do another daily share of a Giant Cicada for you folks living north of San Antonio and Laredo. These things are still singing down here but I bet Fridays Cold front shuts em up. This is a cross post for me from another thread...again but since I was forced to learn how to upload a video to youtube I didn't want the effort to go to waste.

Wow welcome to the Tex thread. I lived in Irving for years so am a little confused how pray tell, do ya got so many birds?Hello, Texas! I am in North Texas (Irving), with 8 pullets - three Ameracaunas, a Barred Rock, three Blue Cochins, and a bantam Mille Fleur D'Uccle. I also have 5 Blue Cochin cockerels, very handsome, but 5 too many for me. The Cochins are too heavy to get over the fences, but my other pullets are very comfortable free-ranging. Eventually I'll have to do something about that!
