Ugh, first major injury and it's a chick.

I think it could be a broken toe. The one behind her middle one is discolored. Or it could be something in the leg. Sigh.

If I decide to sell all the birds to cover repair costs for my vehicle, would anyone here be interested in them?

I haven't made up my mind yet, but I'm not sure how I'm going to replace the engine in the vehicle, so I just thought I would check here while I'm still thinking.
I want to ask some gearheaded geek questions…. Maybe I can help find a out of the box POV idea/solution… the rescuer in me is always rarin’to go for helping folks… and at the same time from my therapist I have to keep learning that sometimes it okay to say no to helping someone…. (Shrubs)

It’s been several days since you posted this and more days since I’ve been online here….

How goes it? Stat’s?
Vehicle details and specs?
Details on the diagnostic outcome?
Option’s?

[edit because I’ve read the subsequent posts]

The artificial inflation of everything in the economy is just flabbergasting.

As for the cost of a A Hyundai motor is over $8K?!

I’m in the process of resurrecting 2 VW’s that will likely be for 2 of my DD’s.
Both TDI’s. I’m figuring that for the cost of parts to repair the motors and clean up the Jetta’s… I may be into the $2-3K range total for both? That’s just a blind gut guess at this point.

I mean, last year I made a run to our place in Galveston and to help a friend out, he covered my fuel on the trip and picked up a Damaged TDI 5.9L (?) twin turbo that cost him ~$4300. The engine itself was solid. Just had to swap externals from the cars dead engine. The Owners bill for that job (from the book) was almost a $10K job. The book price for that engine swap *before covid*? As I recall it was only $1500-2K less.

Sheeeesh. If there was someway I could help you . I sure would want to.
