Does anyone know of hatcheries or farms that sell older sexed birds? Like over 1 month at least? I always have such bad luck with my straight run chicks and get overwhelmed with cockerals. I have 3 pullets at the moment and 5 cockerals. In the process of getting them new homes.

Murray McMurray sells what they call started pullets. They are 15-22 weeks old, so nearly at POL.

So cute!!!!! Their coloring makes me think pullet, though the one on the bottom is a little iffy, but we shall see =D

I would love to show! I just have the time yet, or the money for the better lines. Id love to show Orps or faverolles. I love the fluffyness!

Havent tried the jello myself, we dont really eat it much, but im hoping to make broth this weekend and , with the cold front coming in I may give them some.
Speaking of which, are you loving this weather or what?! Im in heaven lol

And oh yes! I am loving the cold front right now! So are my lovely hens! No one is panting up a storm any more!

Goodmorning. I love when my hens come and peck on my back door glass in the morning. They want food and they know where I live

What collar are you talking about? Is it something that keeps them from crowing? She might just have some darker wing coloring. Hatchery birds are always fun to guess at. If you look fot the Derp thread on here she is a hatchery faverolle and she is almost a rhode island red color haha!

My ladies have stayed dry so far. I guess they were hanging out under their house. Do you have your silkie in with standard sized birds? Did you add her first? How does she do? I thought about having a silkie before.

I'd sell you some, but I don't think we're close enough.

Straight runs will be close to 50/50, given you order enough for statistics to work. It looks like that's about what you got.

I went to a feed store today to get DE and they wanted 59.99 for a 40lb bag!!! Ridiculous!!! I am going to the feed store by my job or tractor supply tomorrow. They have it for 15.99 or 19.99 for a 40-50lb bag.
