Texas

The Ikky is almost here:barnie Glad I voted on Monday doubt I could lift a dry sheet of paper off a table today. Sub 60% humidity and it all changes. On a normal day I am like a gecko with that stuff, but Van der Waals forces will not apply for the next couple of days.

Nope! Never went below 35° & ground was too warm as well. Granted it's "still" 35°, some 8, almost 9 hours later.

So as promised almost a month ago... Here's that Farmer's Almanac update for this 2021 cycle:

Now y'all see what I was bummed about with regard to killing fleas off this winter.

Ok
I am officially cold.
Climbed into long sleeve shirt and flannel pants.
Seriously considering socks.
46f feels like 38 wind outta the north at 10-12 mph.
Sighs, I like cold better than hot but...
Fluffy pajama pants here, the warm fuzzy kind! All my chooks are still alive this morning, woohoo! Omg what a night. This girl is scheduling a nap this afternoon, but first..... COFFEE!! ☕

Steadily holding here at 37 degrees with 30 wind chill, since I laid down for some sleep in the wee hours of the morning. Love the almanac! But yeah, the fleas ain't going nowhere. They are wintering here it looks like. 🙀

I'll start this one.

I am in San Marcos, between Austin and San Antonio.

FYI
I have been keeping a spread sheet of Texas BYC members for several years. Right now it has 274 members on it. Of course some are no longer members or might have visited only a few times.

Texas, we are strong !
We live in Thornton, about 50 miles east of Waco. Gotta love Texas, woot woot :;

Welcome, welcome newbie to the forum and the local chat thread.... Where we have recently talked about : dogs, neighbors, chickens breeding voluntarily in stealth, mowing, wearing "winter clothing" such as socks, and of course forecasting hurricanes and their projected path and life cycles......
