Texas

I mean specifically sabal brazoriensis. Not the common sabal palmetto.
Yeah but we've all called them no mater what for generations of family just palmettos.

Or in my grandfather's words....wait they where bad words.

I didn’t mean to make a deal about it. There’s 3 sabal species native to Texas.
Sabal Mexicana - aka Texas sabal -common in the rio grande valley. Lots in San Antonio. Laguna Gloria in Austin.
Sabal Minor- aka dwarf palmetto probably what yall are talking about. Doesn’t trunk. Common in the south through to Oklahoma.
Sabal braziorensis- Brazoria Palm- grows in a small part of Texas in SW Brazoria Co. slow growing and trunks.

Those are in a state/county park that is part of Bar-X. I've seen them in other state/county parks here as well. Grandfather cleared them long ago off a parcel of cattle land. We are in the SW of Brazoria co.

Freeport is 20 miles from me.
