Must have sold them already. That sucks!

I just read a post on the Marans Chicken Club Yahoo group from Ernie Haire of Arp, Texas (email [email protected]) stating that they hatch and ship chicks every week

... Blue and Black Copper Marans. You might want to contact him about chicks... he is active in the Marans Chicken Club and The Marans of America Club and so I'm thinking chances are pretty good that he will have some really nice birds.

I'm from Krum TX and have 3 black Langshans. We are new to backyard chickens or any chickens for that matter. All that I know about chickens I've read on the internet in the last few months. I also have a very supportive and helpful recently retired husband, 3 rescued dogs and a large garden (I'm a master gardener). I love organic gardening and the chickens fit right into our "urban homestead".

Hi everyone,

This may be posted somewhere and I have just missed it. Anyone know of a website that is focused just on Texas for buying/selling chicks/adults/fertile eggs?

Thanks,
Kim

I'm not aware of any websites either there is an auction in central Texas that offers all of the above once a month (www.idumasale.com) its just south of Killeen. The gentleman that owns the auction is very well respected in the poultry buisness and has been doing this for many years. Its a good place to feed your poultry addiction and see all sorts of birds from the common to the very rare stuff. Its fun we don't make it all the time but we try.

welcome to the group I am in Decatur not to far from you. Hubby and I built us a chicken tractor this weekend. So far so good. we did not get a chance to paint it as of yet. I thought I should paint it before we put the netting on but he said we can do it after. LOL
Let us know how your tractor turns out. I will be posting pics of mine as soon as I can figure out what my girls did with the cord I use for my phone to upload pics.

Too much rain this last weekend for the chicken tractor to be delivered--but I did get some chickens. Mix of 5 standard hens (1 RIR, 1 Wyandotte, 2 white girls (?) and a bantam rooster who got evicted from the Denton City limits for laying in a no laying zone!!

Anyway, they are taking up residence in my dog house and kennel til the tractor comes and the chicken coop has a new roof and panels built. I definitely got the bug and 9 eggs already so I am on a role.........

I am looking for some Olive Egger Laying hens if anyone knows someone who has any to sell. Please help me out.

oh my definitely not what you want to see out your door!!!!! glad you and yours are ok!

Your video and pics are really scary. I am glad everyone was OK... it would be interesting to document the land's rebirth from the fire... I hear it is miraculous.

hey there, I'm right in your neck of the woods over in Smithville/Bastrop area! I'm looking for some feathers! Do you ever let people come pick up feathers at your place? I know it sounds crazy, but I pick them up for my best friend, who makes art with them..hair pieces, pillows, funky lamp shades etc. I would totally love it if you could even pick them up and I'll pay you or something. We're getting desperate for some new funky stuff!
