#1) I am grateful for my family. My parents who are always there for me, and put up with me and my chicken craziness.
#2) I'm grateful for my horse, Misty. Misty is my safe place, a great listener, poor communicator though she always has to let you know what she has to say. I'm grateful for all the happiness and laughs she brings me.
#3) I'm grateful for Lucy, our second horse, who brings confront and friendship to Misty's life. Misty would be lost without her.
#4) I'm grateful for my chickens. They're antics, and how they always make me laugh. Also great listeners, sometimes they pipe in as well.
#5) More specifically, I'm grateful for Smudge. My sweet Cornish X who brought comfort and one to Doodle's life for as long as she was with us. For how much she sacrificed to allow me to learn and grow. Her antics, schemes, feed room break in's, and my gosh how many times she made me smile. I will never forget you Smudge.
#6) I'm grateful for the place I live in. Large property, surrounded by mountains, nature, wildlife and forest. The calm it brings to the area, and adventure at the same time. No neighbor's you can see, and plenty of room to admire the beauty of Western Washington.
#7) I'm grateful for the opportunity's i'm given. Opportunities to raise chickens, to farm, to ride horses, to have amazing veterinary experiences my animals give me. Opportunities to learn and grow, and further influence my dream to become a veterinarian.
#8) I'm grateful for good food. I love to cook, and I'm grateful for the recipes that are out there to use. The warm meals I eat every day, and the knowing that they are fulfilling and healthy. The opportunity to learn new things while cooking, experience new tastes through adventurous recipes, and learning new ways of cooking.
#9) I'm grateful for snow this Christmas. Sometimes we don't get snow until mid season, but I'm grateful for the thick layer of soft snow on the ground around the property. The beauty it brings, the opportunities it give the chickens, horses, us. How it makes everything feel so much like Christmas.
#10) I'm grateful for friends. Friends I know in person, and friends I meet on BYC. Those who can share my love for chickens, nature and animals. Those who help me with questions, and especially anyone who gave me support in Smudge's final threads, and necropsy thread. That meant so much to me. Those who have helped me come so far in my chicken keeping journey, and taught me so much. Even if it was the cold hard truth at times.

When I say this I think I'm talking to almost everyone on BYC, all of you are so great and make this community so helpful. Especially out mods.
Thank you all!
