I'm in! We only have a tiny incubator that we havent even tried yet but no time like the present!

Well that is what a small egg then?

I have been using these 2.5 oz salad cups, about 2" long.
I cut a small hole in the side of the lid, put the probe in fill with water and then tape the top on and tape at the wire going in. More like a Large/XL egg, but that is mostly what we incubate so I figure its as close as I will get it without getting technical and using whats on hand.

I was going to silicone, but it works well so I didnt bother, I just make sure the probe is in the middle of it.

We had discussed somewhere if oil would be a better liquid to use, thoughts and suggestions, something that wont go bad obviously ha ha ha

I guess I didn't realize the probe could get wet!! That's genius!

It works just fine then.

Use the water wiggle probe!

Yea I'm wondering if it's the new battery I put in yesterday. I should've checked my own temp with the battery that was in it before! Then I'd know... Well I have it in the wiggler now! Been in there for over an hour - I will check on it in a bit and we'll see what it says...

Alright, now we are to that time when we need to start recording egg numbers.

When you are finished setting ALL of your eggs, please post in this thread, how many total eggs you set for this Hatchalong. (anything +/- 2 days from set day counts)

If you ended up not setting any eggs, please also let us know, so we can record it and know when the count is done.

If you can, post pictures of the eggs you set. (Because we all love looking at pretty eggs in an incubator) If you have a broody, don't worry about it unless you take the picture before you give them to your broody.

.Im using my grandmas incubator circa mid-1950s.... i let it run for 5 days and adjusted the thermostat (holy confusing!!!) but it worked and according to my digital thermometer/hydrometer its hunky dory comfy cosey

I set eggs that are due to hatch April 5th (out of pure excitement... forgetting the March 29th set date). NOW... heres my question if i set another dozen (there's plenty of room) will it compromise anything? I currently have cheese cloth under the eggs that are set now for "easier clean up" which I suppose is my main concern. :-( help/opinions please :)

Just got two more boxes of eggs... this one appears to have taken a good hit ! hopefully the eggs are packed really well!

You have images of the box, there is $50. max insurance on the box, dont hesitate to start a claim with any damage to a box. but praying for good eggies!!

Because of needing the chicks to hatch before my sons science fair, we had to set our 18 eggs early. We set them on the 20th, hoping they will hatch of the 10th of April, since the Science fair is on the 13th.

Our homemade bater.
