Can I hatch a long too?
I have guineas and they are not listed in the above, but it would be fun to participate too if its OK.
Of course. I thought we had guinea's listed.

Quote: Phew! Thanks! I was worried we forgot something for a minute.

If anyone has any other type of fowl that is not listed, just let me know how long it takes to incubate them, and we can add them to the list.

Is there any way of telling if the egg is porus by looking at it? I've never had much luck at candling my eggs. They're kinda dark.

Here are a few different photos of some porous eggs..can see it while candling.

Here is a porous egg that has started to develop.. I've had many porous eggs hatch fine, although, if you know there is one or two in the bator, keep a close eye on them, because at times they don't start to develop. Don't want a bad egg in there.

This one is doing well so far!

You could add peafowl to the list, just in case. I'm crossing my fingers the weather will warm up after next week then maybe mine will lay me a couple just in time!!! (Okay, high hopes)
So other than my own Silkies and mixed chickens, I've got quite a few eggs from this years wish list lined up in time for the
HAL!
I'm expecting Welsh Harlequin, Ancona, and call ducks. Malay, and EE/OE. Hopefully I can get some East Indie ducks lined up. I'm also interested in some Orpingtons if anyone has big buff, laced, or jubilee they would be willing to swap for. Maybe some bantam old English too.
I'm pretty excited. I only hatched a few small broods over the winter this year so I'm not burned out at all. That and I'm highly determined to get some good hatches out of shipped eggs again!
I have several hens considering motherhood already. So far I've been able to convenience them it is not yet time. Hopefully they will be up to helping me out!

What is the incubation time? My google search says 28 days?
