The 9th Annual BYC Easter Hatchalong!

Thank you :)

They have young cockerels in with them so I was surprised even the 11 from that pen were fertile.

I live in a very wet area. It’s been raining and snowing back and forth for a few months. I’ve always hatched this way because if I add water before lockdown the chicks all drown. I have good hatch rates with the fertile eggs. Last batch was 22/24;) and the 2 that didn’t hatch were fully formed and in position but still had a lot of liquid.
Humidity in the incubator must be above 25%?

We always have to adjust our techniques based on where we live--and sometimes from season to seadon

True and my indoor humidity is at 57% usually it’s in the 30% range inside while in the new incubator it’s 22%. No eggs in there yet but heating element is drying it out. Test run before lock down.

Late in seeing this but I do have a broody sitting and do to hatch on Easter weekend.
