and also I would think that svarts and other cemani decended birds have been mixed for other traits cold hardy ect.. over so many years being out of indonesia

so bluekim, you would agree that cemani has less sheen than svarts? and does this feather sheen varie even among cemani?

well, the indo AC does anyway....the European AC seem to have the same amount as Svart honas........but yes, the sheen from what i've seen can vary from one to the next................i've read that diet plays a role too, if fed high quality feed, they seem to have more of a sheen and poorly fed or poor diet makes the feathers matte and dull looking...........so not sure where the indo AC gets the matte/dull almost no sheen feathers from? i'm sure they are well fed, might jut be from the heavy inbreeding that gives them that look?

I think im gona go to secret hills ranch for my svarts they don't look as dark as indo cemani in the pics they have but dark enough for my needs

I really liked it.

I believe when all is said and done and the American lines have merged.
that we will eventually develop an American Standard Breed...

I cannot see our American Vanity giving up on that awesome sheen...
But I can see us going all black with that sheen.
