"The day my world turned upside down" story

"LOOK OUT!!!" I heard a bark that sounded like Buddy as me, Rio and Zip were pushed out of the way of the truck, strait into a snowbank. I came out, my whole body coated in snow and I looked at Zip and Rio.... they were like little snowmen! I howled with laughter, forgetting the intensity of my surroundings. Suddenly I looked towards Buddy, going to thank him for pushing us out of the way. I gasped. Buddy hadn't saved me. The pitbull had! "Oh! Thanks... um, thanks for saving us." I said politely. The pitbull nodded his head in respect, then ran to the truck which lay on its side. The three men emerged and a shril whistle shot through the air. Apparently, that was from the pitbulls owner, for he came barreling towards me! "I thought we were friends!" I yelped as I high tailed it into the woods, Zip and Rio clinging to my neck. I heard the pitbull behind me, and I spotted a pile of fur ahead. It was Buddy. "BUDDY!" Rio called. I ignored the fact that I was being chased, and came to a complete stop to see my friend. "Buddy? Please answer... please." I pleaded to his motionless body. Suddenly, I heard a snarl in my ear. I looked up and saw the pitbull standing there, teeth bared, glaring at me. "Leave us alone! Please! My friend is hurt!" I begged him. His lips slowly went down, re covering his teeth. The glare left his eye, and a sympathetic look came to his face. We all crowded around Buddy and studied for signs of life. I saw his chest rising and falling slowly. "Fido?" I heard a weak whimper come from his throat. "Buddy! Please... you're gonna be okay. Right?" I said, which soon turned to a question. "Fido... I've been through many sicknesses and injuries, and each time you have helped me through it. You have friends around you who will help you through hard times. I've done all I can in this lifetime and I am grateful for all my friends i've made. You keep going on your journey to find a new home. But this time... I won't be with you. I love you Fido... and I always will." And that was all to be heard.
