Well had a good day with the EE chickies today. They are still skittish but getting better.I started to worry about introducing them to the older chicks which are 8 weeks old(ee are 4 weeks) so I let them free range together for around 45 minutes together keeping a close eye out for trouble. There were a few pecks but nothing too horrible so I'm hopeful that with a little dedication I can integrate them into the older flock. Some of those will be leaving me anyway since I raised them for a friend.I was wondering if that would be a good time to move theEE's in permanently since the flock dynamics will change somewhat and everyone will be kind of off kilter.I'm fairly sure my dominant hen is going to be the buff. She lays down the law on all the other chicks but she never goes over board, not that I have seen anyway .She is staying, along with the 2 BR's and 3 "red pullets"(from tsc). Also wanted to ask when do the EE usually start getting color to their combs/faces?I bought sexed pullets but I know sometimes mistakes are made.Anything particular at age 4 weeks and up that I should be looking for as a sign that it could be a rooster?
