The EE braggers thread!!!

pea comb will more likely give blue egg because blur egg gene is close to pea comb gene on chromosome...leg color and tail/tailless are just indicators of parentage

pardon lack of capitals
oht - one hand typing ,bbq on fingers

OOH, a BLUR egg, what a concept

Guess I now have to figure out what kinds of combs the EEs have. Wish they would stand still long enough to get a good picture. As it is, it is pure LUCK!

I should have added to "pardon my typos" too.

I have given up on getting decent photos of my chicks/chickens. I haven't even tried getting pictures this year of them. LOL

I've got a 4 week old chick that I know is a boy because his comb is already turning red. I hope he don't end up mean because he's blue, my favorite color. He was hatched by a broody with 8 other chicks so he's running around with the adults, but mama was killed last week so he's holding his own among big boys and girls (and so are his four remaining (hopefully) sisters).

Fingers crossed!

Looks like it; the brown one has a 3-row pea comb, and the buff/white one has a single row.

I've heard that 3 rows can mean boy, but I've had EE pullets with a lot brighter (pink) comb than that at the same age. My EEs have been the most difficult to sex so far bc they change so much and no two are the same!
