~The Forests of Avalon, A Dragon Roleplay~ 2

"We are heading for the Mountain in the morning. I would rather not intrude on whatever is going on up there at the moment. Could be quite ugly, although I doubt anyone objected, these mindless drones. Give them a direction and let them go." He scoffed, glancing back at her once more, "How does that sound to you? Or would you rather crash the party now?"
____
Dread was well among them, mouth ajar as he strove to come up with something.
When that failed, he just spoke, regretting it as he did. "When will this be taking place, exactly? O-our warriors have seen real combat, since, I cannot even recall."

"Makes no difference to me." She shrugged, returning his gaze evenly. On one hand, she was becoming tired after a long day of negotiating and wouldn't mind leaving it until tomorrow. On the other hand she wanted to get it over with, the longer she stuck around without a "green card" from Lilith the longer she would remain on edge about being discovered. She didn't exactly trust Silv's casual dismissal of the "mindless drones".

_______

"Glad you asked, Dread." She said with an approving nod in his direction. "We will leave tomorrow evening, travel by night and attack at dawn with the sun behind us." The rest of Dread's reply seemed to go unnoticed, and she didn't touch on it at all. "Be ready by then."

"Camilla...." Kyra objected, her jaw still slightly parted. "We cannot start an open war right now! We are not ready! I have no supplise ready to treat the wounded!"

"Silence!" Camilla snapped harshly, casting a scathing glare at the young healer. "You should be ready at all times! We are at war! What kind of a healer are you if you aren't prepared for battle!"

Kyra's eyes went as wide as full moons at Camilla's tone, and for a second she looked like a frightened youngling being scolded by her mother again. She was saved from replying, however, by Sam who countered Camilla's tone with one of his own. "Camilla! We are not ready for this! You are risking all of our lives without thinking!"

This time Camilla looked hurt, but the look was quickly replaced with one of anger. "Sam, coming from you I expected support. I thought Henry and yourself were closer then even myself, I thought wrong. Does he not mean anything to you?"

"Well then, I am tired myself. Perhaps a short stop, when we arrive at the dens you will need to conceal yourself, of course. I do not feel like explaining your presence, and while if you were found I wouldn't need to explain, I would be down a potential resource."

____
"I have to agree with Sam, Camilla-" Dread started again, glancing worriedly between Kyra, Sam and her. He wasn't sure what else to do, by now he knew full well he could up with a million reasons why to go to war but that each one would be shot down.

Adeline fought the urge to roll her eyes at his repeated threat, and had to look away. He didn't scare her, but she couldn't help but glance behind her back for a second, half expecting to see someone there. It also didn't help that her creamy white scales were like a beacon in the gathering darkness for anyone within miles to see. She didn't exactly "blend in" very well. Even so, she couldn't let her worries spill over to Silv, so she simply nodded like it wasn't a big deal.

____

At this point Amatis was on her feet and hurrying towards the confused and upset Camilla. She blocked the queens view of the rest of th stunned dragons and began speaking in hushed tones to her, quiet enough that the sound didn't reach anyone else in the room. "I'll talk to her," she glanced back at Sam and Dread with a sickened expression. "Don't tell anyone else about this for now."

He walked in silence for the rest of the hike, head held low as his claws fell silently on the leaf and stone littered floor.
"And here we are, make like a ghost now." He gestured vaguely towards the caves, "There are guards stationed randomly on patrol, if you do decide to bolt. Which having known you for as short as I have, anything is possible."

____
Dread lay his head in one of his clawed hands and took in the stunned silence after Amatis' words to them.
This was what he had been hoping wouldn't happen, but he knew would.

Adeline chuckled under her breath at his mention of her "making like a ghost", because in the dark thats exactly what she looked like. She brushed past Silv and headed towards one of the higher caves, being close to the ground made her nervous. Tomorrow morning she would meet Lilith and be accepted into Caronia, at least that was the plan. She hoped that Silv knew what he was doing around here though, as she had no doubt that he would keep to his promise about simply watching. I'd like to see them try... She told herself as the chilling darkness of the cave engulfed her. A good fight would keep her on her toes at least, get the blood flowing.

________

Sam pulled the doors shut in a hurry once himself, Dread and Kyra had left. Amatis and Stephan had remained with Camilla to try and calm her, then change her mind. At this rate Pelendava would be charging into battle blindly in just over 24 hours. "Kyra..." Sam addressed the stricken healer. "Kyra you mustn't take what Camilla said too hardly, she doesn't know what she's saying."

"She told me that I wasn't a good healer, Sam. That I can't do my job..." She said softly, looking up at the much older dragon with wide eyes. For a moment Sam thought he seem the glistening of tears, but he couldn't be sure.

(I'm Sorry I Have Been Gone For (Heck Ages!) I Am Hoping To Become More Active In A Steady Schedule. I Just Got Moved Into A New Apartment And I Got A Job At A Microsoft Store About A Mile Away. Im Glad To Be Back Guys! This Aint Good I Never Expected You To Actually Go To War For Erm... A Long Time? Also Is My Character Still Playable On?)

Silv spent the following hours laying just inside the mouth of his cave. While he did not sleep, he did not dwell on Caronia of the strange dragoness either.
He imagined the various ways in which he could dispose of Lilith if all went as planned. Lilith and of course, that queen of Pelewhatsit.
The slight tinge of light in the western sky told him it was time to head out and he stood, shaking himself awake.
___

"Camilla is confused by her need to avenge Henry." Dread added, face taught, "She truly isn't herself at the moment, I wouldn't take any of her words to heart, not yet. Let us wait on Amatis and the others now, see if they can reason with her."

Adeline remained in the cave even after the sun began to rise. She had slept fitfully most of the night, dozing here and there between keeping a watch on her tail. The last thing she needed was to be caught off guard during the night. A good sleep could wait.
_____

Kyra looked away from them and back towards the door. From inside, the voices of Amatis and Camilla drifted out but they were too muffled for her to make out any words. They only sounded agitated.

"I hope they can talk some sense into her." Sam said with a small frown. "However, should they not be able to, we should at least start preparing the warriors. If all goes well then we won't be needed, but if not... they should at least be ready."

Name: Otulissa
Gender: Female
Rank: Rogue (can be recruited, she is an assassin if that's okay)
Appearance: Otulissa is an odd brownish color with greyish-white barring around her neck. She has a few white scales peppered across her body, and white spines at the end of her tail, which carry light amounts of venom. She has cat-like ears that are a lighter brown than the rest of her body, and her eyes are pure black orbs. She lacks the ability to breathe fire, but instead has venom in the spines on her tail and two snake-like fangs in her mouth. To an untrained eye, however, they appear as canines that are slightly larger and sharper than normal. Her wings are light brown, and also has white barring.
Personality: A trained assassin, Otulissa is quiet, but deadly. She talks down to all other dragons, and behaves as if she has superior intelligence. She does not enjoy dealing with other dragons, and prefers to keep to herself, but would gladly work with either Pelendava or Caronia and betray the other side for a rare herb or something else of value.
City: (Pelendava or Caronia) Rogue
BYC Username: Owl
