The Front Porch Swing

It will!  It's almost like magic but they seem to sprout those feathers overnight once you start weaning off the light.  I love God's design for these birds.

So true, reminds me of how the hairs will grow back out on your legs (after you've shave them) when you get a chill. lol

Deb,
A beautiful description. I remember staying at our friend's home in El Cajon, and sitting on the rocks. Soaking up the heat of the day and listening to the early evening sounds. You are closer to the border than they were. I have spent many years traveling Baja. Probably wouldn't do it now. How different our ideas of paradise are, but still so similar. For me now it is the spring peepers, the hoot owl on summer evenings, the coyote song, the underlying song of the woods. Peace for our souls.

And I love the whip-or-will and the morning dove.......

Can't hear any thing here except the inerstate. I really miss the mountains where I grew up.

Oh not stupid.....  a forge is a Hearth used for heating metals.   A very very hot Hearth.  The one I was working with only had space enough to heat up bar stock steel for horse shoes.  But there are some huge ones out there for doing wrought iron and all sort of metal working.

You can even weld on a forge.... its a pretty cool process.

Thanks Deb!! Always good to add to the knowledge bank

Do you guys still love me? I'm afraid I got off on another tangent in another forum. I'm gonna get my butt tossed off BYC yet! I gotta learn not to let these people get to me! <sigh>

Some double yolker - but stupid question - how do you know it's a double until you open it? I'm not being a smart alec...I really want to know how you tell so when my girls start laying I'll know. I saw a lady on You-tube "deliver" twin chicks. Amazing!

Perchie, that spot for the deck sounds just lovely! You wrote about it so beautifully I could see it! And someday I'm going to visit Bee and listen to the peepers.

Think I'll mosey over to the corner for a bit. I'm still kinda upset about the other forum - more with myself for getting sucked in than for what was said by the other person, if I were to tell the truth. But honestly, I was so angry I was in tears, and over what? A silly, two paragraph dissertation on people like me making life unfair for "responsible" people. Oh, well. Next time I'll come here and vent instead of making myself look foolish. Then if you say, "Go get her" - I will!
awwww...I saw and read what happened blooie.

Sometimes people and their way with words can rub the rest of us the wrong way.

Sometimes double yolk eggs have a waist, like the egg was going to close around a single yolk before it noticed there were two yolks.

Can you guys come entertain my dog for me. He is being sooooo needy right now and I have stuff to do. He wants to play bone. He guards the bone and growls while you say "is that your bone?" Then he rolls around and sings the bone song, and you have to sing backup. Then he takes the bone a few steps away and you have to go over there and ask him "is that your bone?" And so on.

It makes reading difficult.

Dang he needs a buddy, a pal, someone who doesn't read! Lol

LOL....  The recipe can be halved....  If you went smaller youd have to taste test it to make sure the flavor profile was right....

Goodmorning, everyone! After I caught up on the thread last night, my brain was mush. After a good sleep, the 2 things that stuck out in my mind was the example Lindz set how to be thankful even when things are going tough! And Bee's challenge to find things to be thankful for when you wake up in the morning. This morning, as I went outside at 5:45 to chore, I was thankful that the sky had light in the horizon. Thankful there was no wind. Thankful for our neighbourhood owl hooting good morning. Thankful for clean underwear. Thankful for coffee. Thankful for a job that I enjoy doing. It's going to be a wonderful day. Hope you enjoy it too! See you after work. Maybe someone will bake cookies today... with chocolate in them.....
