smh...

I don't care who hates my concept of God (you are mass stereotyping again anyway) My faith is strong enough to survive in the most secular of societies. I am comfortable with freedom of religion as well as freedom from religion. And those fat kids you speak of are a minority, but it is a sad fact that the cheap food eaten by many of the poor are gross and fattening like hot dogs and cheap sweets.

Uhhh.... Democrats hate the concept of god? says who? There are tons of religious democrats and non-religious ones who support relgion, freedom of religion, etc. I think some democrats don't think the goverment should be run by 1 religion (Christianity) or any religions.... Thats just makes sense.... if you have a goverment run under a religion, which do you choose? And what about those who believe differently, in another religion for example? Then they must live under the rules of a religion that is not thiers. the beauty of the US is we are all supposed to have the freedom to worship or not worship as we choose and not have someone elses religion shoved down our throat.

And alcohol causes many more social, criminal and health problems and yet it is legal and taxed. It makes no sense. And before you all accuse me, i don't smoke it, nor am I a drinker. LOL
I'll bet you're a barrel of fun on the weekend.

You know what's funny about most of these wannabe socialists? They've only heard the last part of the mantra. To each, according to his need....If they saw the first part in action, as it would be in my world, we could get rid of that mentality in one generation....From each, according to his ability....That means, if there's beans to pick, that's what you are doing. You don't get to choose what your ability is. That's the state's job, and in a true egalitarian society there's no such thing as favoritism or senority. If there's work to be done, whoever's available steps up to the plate.
Well in a free will communal effort for improved living, people will do what needs to be done as long as they understand what needs to be done. Get the eggs? Pick the tomatoes? Milk the cow? Babysit the children? Wash the dishes? Cook the turkey?

That's why the ACLU; a very conservative organization, is always demanding the removal of Christian symbols, visible to the public eye, which have been established for years....Sorry, but one does not find something as simple as a cross offensive, unless one is offended by the concept. It has nothing to do with everyone gets a shot or noone gets a shot.

yeah I know....I disagree with him about that. It's too bad we can't all discuss things without making broad generalizations and stereotypes, like you were saying. I mean, the way people like to paint things, there are only 2 kinds of americans, and they are both against each other. There is the stereotypical right, and the stereotypical left. Of course the right is always depicted as godly and patriotic, and the left as socialist and uniformed. What no one wants to admit is that nothing could be further than the truth and that things are not that simple. But it's much easier for people to make big (unsupportable) statements like "Democrats are evil socialists determined to destroy religion." or "Republicans are money grubbers that don't care about other people." - neither of which is accurate and saying these things wastes everyone elses time, but thats what goes on here, unfortunately.

No they won't. Try cajoling most of today's teenagers off the couch or from in front of the computer, to take out the trash, wash the car, wash the dishes, all because it's good for their soul.

If there's not bribe money or objects tied to it, it ain't happening.

Like this one. He uses it to back up the idea that democrats are against religion, but the ACLU is not (a) representative of all democrats or (b) the democratic party. But saying this gives him the chance to derail the real conversation and bends us all to his will by asking us to refute or agree with him.

You forgot those highminded independents who are so above all the petty bickering.
