Kylan's head snapped up, suddenly nodding at Colby, having heard why he was going. "My brother is one of the kids missing, so yes, I'm ready to get out of here and run." Maybe it'll help me think. He gave a cheesy grin, trying to show that he had no ill intentions.Colby came up behind Nat and shoved his palms into the small of her back. "You're not getting acquainted enough."
Nat stiffened at his pushing, but didn't turn around. "Hey, I've already exchanged pleasantries with one, two, three, four, five people. And, man, this is the definition of a tough crowd. Cut me some slack."
Colby, intending to back off, somehow managed to get a claw entangled in the lace of her top and instead began the tedious process of removing himself. "I'm gonna go take a run. There's some little kids missing. Maybe I could find them."
Nat jackknifed forward violently, thrust her arms behind her, grabbed Colby's wrists, and flipped him onto the dirt in front of her. She could feel the torn strands of her shirt fluttering loosely from where she'd ripped his nail free. She couldn't care less about him being the cause of the ruin of yet another flimsy shirt, but Colby himself galavanting through this unfamiliar terrain was another matter entirely. "You are not."
Colby blinked up at her owlishly and inexplicably maneuvered himself onto his feet and out of reach within the blink of an eye. "Oh, but I am."
He began to blithely skip from group to group. "Anybody wanna take a run with me?"
Nat thrust her arms down to her sides and stormed after him, making her way through the clusters of displaced people with far less grace. "I was still getting acquainted, you know!"
