The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

Kevin glanced at Lilith. “Er, is that a good thing, or a bad thing?” He asked. He looked down at Tru. He felt bad for the dog, he was obviously freaking out pretty hard.
Lilith frowned, unsure of what to say. If I have a little freak-out I'm liable to get someone else killed. "I don't know. It's never been like this. I'm feeling what those creatures feel, what they see." She said slowly, giving Tru a pet on the head. "Looks like we're finally starting to walk again." She murmured under her breath, starting to walk but staying with him, so far, other than Kylan he was the only person who had spoken to her that didn't seem to have an absolute death wish like the purple-haired girl or Fred.

Take moved himself towards the front of the group, and a little ways ahead from everyone so he didn’t feel so crowded. The incline wasn’t steep, but as he gazed further, they would have to climb the hill completely.
He shot a look at the group that still wasn’t progressing from the appearance of Carson and his cougar.
He turned to face them, his arms crossed, “Let’s get moving already!” he shouted.

"I can talk to and understand any creature, as long as I look at it." He explained. "If I take off my ring, then I can hear creatures that I'm not looking at as well." He added, twisting the ring on his middle finger unconsciously
Haddie nodded thoughtfully as he explained his ability, then looked over to Take. I can do... she shifted into a tiger and started walking towards the back of the group, ...this.

By inconspicuous weaving through people and plants, Ciro had gradually wandered ahead of the group, and in doing so, unintentionally evading the determined little man that led them. He didn't want to undermine anyone, but he could not move at that pace...especially when there were unknown evils around.
In becoming hyperfocused on his surroundings, the hubbub behind him had faded to near inaudibility. He was completely immersed in the woods and the malevolence it kept cleverly veiled from them. His eyes darted to every rogue movement that the undergrowth let loose. The hair on the back of his neck prickled, but he made sure to keep his legs moving. A hesitant man was a dead man.
This reminded him way too much of Tepito after dark.
But in Tepito, he knew what to expect.
Here? Not so much.
There were innocent people here. Kids not all too different from his beloved little sisters.
So whatever was out there, he was going to meet it first.

Smack in the middle of the meandering crowd, Nat couldn't keep her eyes off the newest arrivals. "That's a cougar," she hissed to Colby.
"And beside that cougar is a Homo sapiens, which appears to be a young adult male," Colby confided conspiratorially.
His unnatural snark didn't even seem to register with Nat. "There's a guy. Literally with a cougar."
Colby shook his head, grinning his incredulity. "And, out of all this, that's what's got you riled up? A perfectly normal big cat?"

Carson was aware of a strange girls eyes on him. Can't blame them for being suspicious, I guess. I mean, we literally came out of nowhere and Buck isn't exactly the most normal pet... He shrugged it off and decided he might as well meet the others. He slowly worked his way over toward Nat and Colby, Buck following him. "Hi," He greeted them rather awkwardly. He was never good at meeting people. He didn't know what to say most of the time. "Uh... My name is Carson, and this is Buck." Buck looked up when he heard his name.

Kevin frowned. He wasn’t sure what to say to that. “Maybe... maybe that can be a good thing? I mean, maybe you can see if one’s about to attack, so we can be prepared.” He said after a minute of thinking about it. He looked down at Fred and grabbed his arm, yanking the boy to his feet. “C’mon, we’re walking.” He said, nudging Fred in front of him.

Blair glanced ahead of the group, and her eyes fell upon somebody gaining a place in front of the group, and instantly she was pleased that somebody had the right idea. Telling everyone to move didn't seem to work. She made her way through the crowd that was at a near standstill, passing the rest of them to come up beside Ciro, her gaze flickering across the dashing and fluttering shadows. It made a odd knot of anxiety tangle itself together in her stomach, but she continued nonetheless. "Good to see that somebody has the right idea around here," she commented after a few moments of silence, giving him a brief glance for the first time since she joined him. "I'm Blair, by the way. And you are..?"

"He's...woah," was all Nat could come up with.
"Great to meet you both. I'm Colby and that's Nat," Colby supplied cheerily. "We're from Maine."
"Is he, like..." Nat wrung out her hands in frustration for not being able to get ahold of herself. She was most definitely frazzled, but she wasn't particularly frightened by the cougar, just stupefied. "...actually tame? And thaaaat's probably the wrong word. Did you raise him from a cub or something?"

"Good to meet you, too. Yeah, he's pretty tame." He petted Buck's ears to show her. "No, he was already a year old when we met, but I've spent at least 30 minutes with him every day for 5 years since then." He laughed lightly and gazed fondly at the big cat. "Show them how nice you are," He encouraged Buck, speaking in the strange tongue of a cougar. Buck happily obliged and nuzzled one of Nats hands with a purr.

Lilith nodded, giving a small smirk. "Yeah, you're probably right. Guess I'll just morph into an alarm clock so no one gets confused." She joked, watching as he jerked up Fred and the boy simply obeyed, getting pushed forwards like some kind of dazed pup.

Kevin’s face turned red with embarrassment, although it was mostly hidden under his beard. “I- I didn’t mean it like that. What I meant was-“ he paused, it finally processing that she was joking. “Oh, you were joking. Sorry, I still have a difficult time understanding that.”
