The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

Take smirked slightly, “Hmph, insomniac” he commented hypocritically, not taking his gaze off her even as she moved. Though he gave an insightful hum to her update on Emma. He reached behind his head and pulled out the sweater that he meant to give her earlier, “Here, for Emma.” he spoke briefly, tossing it on top of her neck. He thought about her words, How will they get home? He looked back up at the ceiling, crossing his arms, “Ask Korim’s Grannie? That old lady would probably know something.. old people always happen to know something.”
"Hmph, hypocrite." Blair retorted softly, mocking his tone. She grabbed the sweater, placing it beside her, planning to give it to Emma when she woke. "Maybe. But they seemed pretty shocked about a portal just popping up." She closed her eyes, desperate to relieve the burning sensation from exhaustion, even though he couldn't sleep. "This is obviously another dimension. To create a portal to another dimension, multiple portals at that, isn't as easy as teleportation. It's a rift in time and space, using extreme amounts of energy. That's my understanding, anyway, from books and such. Could be completely different, though." Knowing he probably didn't care about her rambling, she shut up, and rolled over, laying her head against his chest, one arm draping over him. "I'll shut up now."

Take couldn’t help but smile even wider at her retort, putting his arm around her back to draw her closer. “Too bad I didn’t understand most of what you said there Einstein, but you sounded smart” he admitted, patting her head. Assuming she was going to fall asleep soon, he wanted to ask something before she did, “How do you say goodnight in French?”

Maya squeezed through the people clustered around the entrance of the cave. She saw Charlie, and a relieved look came over her face. “You’re not dead,” she said, a crooked smile on her face, trying to hide how worried she was.
“Yeah, I’m not,” he agreed, then scratched his head. “Sorry,”
Maya snorted. “Sure you are,” she said. “C’mon, moron.” She gestured further into the cave and Charlie obligated, coming in so his back wasn’t being rained on.
“That dragon fight was pretty intense. You should’ve seen it.”

Aria gaped should the dead dragon. “What in gods name?” She muttered glancing around. She looked around for Lilith or Kylan or Kevin, none in sight. She continued to walk still in awe at the fact she had just encounter A huge (dead) dragon, dead but a dragon non the less. How much further was the place the kids were being held captive at? What was this place? How did she really feel about Kylan? A dozen or more questions raced through her head in record speed. She ventured after the disappearing forms of Kyle, Ellie, Korim and Rylie.

“Fine” she shivered, now the adrenaline was gone she was back to being cold. “You?” Aria asked
"I'll be fine." Kylan said, shivering a bit as he crossed his arms to try and retain warmth. His eyes wondered over to the fallen dragon, giving a small scoff. "Betcha none of us would've seen this coming five days ago."
Kevin frowned, looking Lilith with concern. He knew her friend was potentially in danger, and didn’t blame her for running towards him. Still, there was nothing she could do if she was eaten.
His frown deepened, not quite catching what she said. “Cover my-?” He cut off, understanding what she was saying when everyone started to cover their ears. He didn’t have time to worry about his birds, or even think about them for that matter, before the monster collapsed, shaking the ground. He carefully removed his hands, looking around. He could only assume it was Eve that did that.
It didn’t take long for him to realize something was wrong. He had been around animals, especially chickens, his entire life, so when suddenly they stopped chirping it hit him like punch in the gut. “Uh... Mama?” Kevin said cautiously, his pulse thumping like a hammer.
He knelt down, pulling the baby sling over his chest and onto the ground. He sucked in a breath, carefully reaching out to touch the mother hen. “Mama?” He repeated, this time slightly more urgent. No.
His hand turned green, pressing into her side. She was alive, but only barely. He scooped as many baby chicks in one hand as possible, touching Mama with his other. He needed to heal them, but didn’t have the time to heal them all separately.
Closing his eyes, Kevin’s hand glowed brighter. After only a minute, Mama raised her head, and loud peeping came from the chicks. He smiled, leaning backwards and pulling the carrier closer to his chest, relief washing over him. If Eve was truly the one that did this, she was going very high up on his dislike list.
That’s when it occurred to him. If a few chickens were affected, then what about a dog?
“Your dog, Tru. Where’s Tru?” Kevin asked, looking up at Lilith.
Lilith watched with concern as he healed the birds, giving a small smile as she heard them start to cheep again.
The question had just popped into her mind at full force when he mentioned it, and she whirled around, automatically dropping to her knees beside a muddy lump of black fur. She reached a shaky hand out, stroking his side cautiously as worry knotted up in her stomach like a ball of acid. She didn't have much in this life to care for other than her job and this dog, and the idea of losing him startled her out of her mind-- But if some chickens and a house cat could survive it, couldn't a collie?
She focused harder on him, able to sense he was alive-- But hardly so. "He's alive, barely." She mumbled breathlessly, tearing her eyes away from Tru to look at Kevin. It must effect animals differently... She wanted to ask him to heal the dog, but bit her tongue in indecision. Someone else could be hurt badly at any point and need it more but he'd be too drained to do so due to healed some stupid girl's animal, so she just turned back to Tru, petting his coat and shushing him with a wavering voice in some sort of desperate attempt at trying to sooth him. "It'll be okay, boy, sh..."
“Anybody have... light powers?” Korim asked. He blinked at zappy electricity Kylan.
"Oh." Kylan blinked, jogging up ahead and entering the cave and slowing as he entered it with a glance back at Aria.
He looked ahead, electricity zapping through his fingers and creating a bright glow that enveloped his hands, bolts running from finger to finger. His eyes also took on a yellow glow, and he was more than aware that if someone touched him, they'd get an unpleasant shock. "Nobody touch me." He blurted, holding his hands out towards the darkness and walking forward with uncertainty, allowing himself to just become everyone's lamp.

Kevin followed her gaze to the muddy ball of fur. He sat the chickens down and moved next to Tru, looking at Lilith for permission to touch him before carefully resting his hand on Tru’s head. Even in the short time they had been together, Kevin knew just how much the dog meant to her.
He closed his eyes, his hand turning green. He had healed more animals than humans, and found it easier to heal something so small. Still, it was a little more difficult to heal something he never had before, although not impossible.
Kevin focused, feeling the magic work it’s way through Tru. He could feel his pulse speeding up to a normal, stronger pace, and let out a small breath in relief.
Kevin opened his eyes, glancing at Lilith. “He should be feeling better. Keep an eye on him though, okay? I don’t know how Eve’s power works, and if it will keep affecting him.” He said. He didn’t want to worry her, but he thought she would need to be prepared in case something happened, although Kevin hoped that wouldn’t be the case.

“Awesome,” Korim said, stepping into the now illuminated cave. It was enormous and rough-hewn, and the light reflected on the walls, blinking off gold and jewelry. It wasn’t as enormous as Korim expected -the dragon had slim pickings when it came to visitors, and the travelers that did come usually didn’t carry shiny bits with them- but while Korim could smell the stench of steaming dragon manure and rot from some other waste cave, this room was impeccably clean. Dragons liked to keep their hoard tidy. (Well, everything in the room except the hoard. They tended to dump that on the ground.)
Timit fluttered back from his far-away cowering now that he knew that Korim wasn’t going to die. Helpful, I know. Treasure!“ he exclaimed, and immediately began picking up the gold and jewelry and weighting himself down so much he could no longer fly, then reluctantly let some of it go, hugging what he could carry to his chest.
