Mini marshmallows
Then dry cat food
Seen grape jelly, but I didn't catch anything.


Problems have been mice and chipmunk stealing the bait. A couple big chipmunks got caught

I catch young raccoons in box traps. But most around here are ones townfolk have released. They know not to go into box traps.

Usually there's a fur bearer season for trapping. That's when pelts are usually prime. Usually there's licences required.
Skunk smell will not usually bother a raccoon.
I only skinned one skunk and nicked the gland... never got the smell out of that pelt.

I have heard of the seasons, but there is a law in co that if it's gonna harm your livestock it is legal to kill it. I also have a small game license

The skunk smell should help cover the human smell. Unless it’s firm smell.

Live trapping is harder than real trapping plus you add the step of having to kill them without hurting the trap.

Box traps are more hassle than real trapping…

Plus a second set next to the first always screws with their little brains.

Give them lots of wire to a solid anchor with. Short wire to drag.

I had 4 dp and 2 box traps, all secured. Momma and 1 little in dp and 2 littles in each box traps. Breaks my heart about the littles. But they got a dz and a half poults and had to go.
