Dee are you still going to Pensacola show next weekend?. I will be there with a few pitiful Orps. Not my best but I want some birds shown so I will get them out of their pens and spiff them up a bit. I am taking a choc bantam too. If you are going I will pm you a pic of me so you will be able to recognize me at the show. I try to wear name tags. I am the one with silver hair.

Yes, I will be there! My first "chicken show"! I will bring my camera so that I can share pics with everyone here. I will be staying an hour away and am looking forward to meeting you and seeing the beautiful birds! I am sure what you are calling "pitiful" will be worth the travel. If I can make it to the hairdresser, I will NOT have my silver showing! But, I will be accompanied by the most handsome man there! You'll be able to spot him right away.

Can't wait! And by the way, you're showing Rock Star as a cull and you like the lacing on the European? Really?

Now, now, I said the Germans have the best Gold Laced. They really do. Hands down. I never compared my bird with that bird.

The reason Rock Star's not in the breeding pen is because I have one that has even better lacing with a perfect comb.

hehe I know, Dee. I just couldn't resist. I like that boy, floppy comb and all. And I don't think it'll be something he passes on to many progeny. But they are your birds and you see them live and in the flesh, so to speak. They're all great looking btw!

Currently though I'm just a couch breeder and don't know that much about color breeding. I see the pictures and learn and exclaim and have bred a few BBS but I'm not an expert. I'm sometimes like the guy in the art gallery that exclaims "I don't' know anything about art but I know what I like!"

LOL, me in a nutshell. I don't know anything about chickens, but I know what I like. That's why I couldn't part with Rock Star. Couldn't send him off. Instead, gave him two girlfriends.

Next weekend, at the show, I'll absorb as much as I can. Pick Julie's brain, if she has time. And, take lots of pictures since I am a visual learner.

It's all good fun! They're just chickens, right?
