The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Thanks Harry but I don't have any pride at all. I don't even know how it happens sometimes so I cant say I did it.
This is his daddy and I just bred a splash hen to him and hatched 15 chicks and got rid of the darker ones and kept these five. I am hoping they will make some good looking blues bred to my other blues . There color is good enough to show though. I sure appreciate your confidence in my breeding efforts though. I value your opinion

All kidding aside he is a sweetheart (however he is in the bachelor pen NOT a breeding pen.....)

Julie that boy is a HOME RUN!!!!!!!!!!!! and that Buff boy is a hunk :) Can't see the deep chest on that buff girl in the photo.. but I know she had one when I sent her weeks ago :) The Splash girl looks like she is wearing some kind of fancy dress or lavish necklace.... Should call her Paris :)

Julie that black is very nice also but he son I believe out did him. You definately have the nack with those blues and you keep them going stronger than ever. You are definately breeding them correctly. I know the hens I have out of your stock have fantastic lacing. Your male is one of the few I see with lacing usually the ones others have the breasts are washed out. I am sure he will do very good in the shows.

Oh she looks good Irene, they both love the food bowl. I am excited about how they are going to turn out, haven't they grown?

Yes I agree Harry The Combo of that hen and this Roo made a really typey boy. I cant wait to see how he looks at 12 months. He is so shiny too

I took a few photos this evening. Louie is turning 7 months old June 1. I love this boy. I have a slighty younger one with good color but not as rotund. This boy is a wide load front to back. I will use him for breeding. Love his tail. Hoping his comb doesn't get to big and hoping he gets a bit more height on him but I will still use him on a big hen if he doesn't get as tall as I want.

very detailed lacing..nice shine..those feathers have such a perfect outline.

Here is my little splash girl with her unusual blue patch. I love her and will keep her

A group at the trough

Last but not least my Buff pair that my dear Friend Irene sent me. Loving these two fluffy things
I like this unusual lacing.

I think that is one of the nicest lavenders I have seen..
I normally do not like the *ratty* looking feathers..but this male is beautiful..
That is a really beautiful bird- I don't have the cuckoo, but I do have lavenders. Mine don't look ratty, they are still young- just about 4 mo now. I hope getting the ratty look is not something that occurs later! The parent birds were beautiful, so I hope mine turn out as nice
