The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

vickie, the oldest one is 2 of that one..lord is she wide..the white bee is a little more streamline..probably because she never quits moving , long enough to eat and drink..and thats it..the buffs find a tree frog or something to inspect with great suspicion..so much fun to watch..as long as i have had chickens, that never gets old.....the rooster came out of the orchard with something hanging out of his mouth..it was a rather large salamander..bluck!!! . he finished it but....gross!

I don't think it was from the heat. When we pulled them out of the box and put them in the brooder, the 5 were very weak from the start and never went to eat/drink even after I dipped their beaks and water. The other 10 are doing great so I'm not expecting anymore deaths. Tonight I'm going to go through and zip tie them to track development. Hoping for a few cockerels and a couple pullets.
Did you contact the seller?
I always give mine warm water with a little sugar in it the first few days after they arrive. Seems like the warm water helps them out more than cold water when they are little.
Good luck with the rest of them!

Does anyone have any idea how much a crele orpington would cost? And why cant i post an add as i have over 20 posts. ??? We will be selling creles and jubilees and reds soon and i need to be able to post. Thanks
it would depend on the quality of the bird as to the cost- ultimately it comes down to how much an individual would be willing to pay...

Yeah, we did. I can't complain much though because he sent 10 extras. I was only supposed to get 5 and I got 15. My favorite one is a feisty little pullet I named Rocky. At first I thought she was a cockerel but looking closer at her she's a pullet. Hence the name, lol. There's 4 pullets and 4 cockerels, and 1 I'm unsure of.

They are looking great redrenier!..it lhas done nothing but rain and rain here wind storms , hail and more rain..the chickens are so glad to be out for a bit today..thou they got caught in some stray showers..they didnt care, just happy to be out..

The freedome ranger..this baby never sits still..

it is so much fun and relaxing to just sit and watch the babies..there was a rather large grasshopper in the area. they would run up, pick on it, scream and run..then got tired over that and took a nap.

these will be moving into a much larger pen very soon..have somone coming for a couple of the blacks, then I will move them into their bigger house. they are all still wet from a stray storm..

I agree, it's fast becoming my favorite past time- very pretty whites by the way! I am learning a new appreciation for the whites since I got sent the ones from GFF. I really didn't want them to begin with, but after loosing 1 each of the partridge, red & white babies the first few days after getting them I decided to go on & keep the white to see how they turned out. It looks like of the 3 remaining whites only 1 is a pullet, but she is sooo cute!

Well no you can't complain, sounds like he was more than fair with extras. I hope the rest turn out well for you!
