The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Found a fun shot of 3 of my boys today. Monty at 1 year front left and his 2 sons, Hungry at 6 months , right front, and Moose at 5 months in the rear. The 2 front boys are 100% English. Moose in the rear is 50% by Monty out of Dolly. He is now larger than Monty and Hungry. I am just about sold out of pullets, but I will have a few very nice cockerels for sale.

Wow nice photo!!!!!!

I think who ever took those photos (I also saw the others that Vickie post a while back) just has a really good camera that picks up the colors how they are supposed to be seen if you have really good lighting. The grass is a normal color green their combs and wattles look normal so I would say the buff color you see in those pictures in the buff color they actually are if you have good lighting and a good camera...you have to understand that some of the newer fancier cameras now days can see things and colors better than the human eye.

Thank you. I think that all the people who own my birds would be a bit surprised to see their birds' parents, brothers, and sisters a different color. The photographer who took the photo of the 3 boys, and some others of my pullets, has a $4000 camera with I don't know how many lenses.Far too complicated for me to even think about using. I take photos with a Nikon Coolmax as that's about all I can handle. Just learning how to video with my IPad, thanks to DEEK. Taking photos alone with my gang is almost impossible, as they all want to be under my feet. It really makes a difference to have someone else take the photos

As someone who owns birds from Vickie they do glow. They are definitely NOT the washed out and pale buff you see too often in any Buff color bird. Also, the pic looks different on my computer screen and my phone.

Thank you! I have some wonderful friends from the hardware store (which I have been to almost daily since moving here LOL) that helped me a lot. And since I am not supposed to be driving Diane even brought me a couple things from the drug store after church today.

It's not just you - I have a guilty pleasure in knowing I can not do things I need to and can lay around here some. Life's just busy.

Anyone headed to Twin Tiers in New York next weekend?, WE ARE!!! I am super stoked and hear I may run into Aveco there? We really have nothing show worthy, but I'll be there and am bringing a blue Orp to show, I look forward to talking poultry and cheering for my littles when they do showmanship.
