The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

does it really matter? what is wrong with everybody? is there another super moon or something because this is a little crazy.. their chickens for goodness sakes.. the lady likes her chickens and is proud of them..why would anybody even care about her pictures that much? im just curious what the big deal is..
X 2!!!

You have genuinely beautiful birds- we all know it. I wish I had the room to get them. Those particular pictures just look like they were taken through a contrast filter... Your birds are just as lovely in natural photos. It's not a big deal and I don't know why a big deal was made...
X 2!!!

Internationals are coming up here too. I started conditioning two weeks ago and I think I have them too fat already.

I had to pull my blue pullet since she decided to molt by the handfulls.
If a person decides to show a splash does it have to be entered AOV? Someone asked and I have no idea.

Anyone headed to Twin Tiers in New York next weekend?, WE ARE!!! I am super stoked and hear I may run into Aveco there? We really have nothing show worthy, but I'll be there and am bringing a blue Orp to show, I look forward to talking poultry and cheering for my littles when they do showmanship.

I don't know about that show, where is it?

It's in Bath, NY. 2 shows in one! Buffalo and Western NY show on Saturday, Twin Tier Show on Sunday.

2 shows, one location, one coop in (one bath for birds, , one hotel fee, one car ride, ect...). But TWO shows, woo hoo! I am SUPER excited. I like the raffles and spend time there, will have the kids with me so if anyone knows of a movie theatre, ice rink....ect to spend time In the evening, I'd be obliged.

Internationals? Cool! Where?

I don't know about the Splash. I entered our Mille Fleur Bantam Cochin as AOV, as they are a project bird, then I spoke with the show secretary and he suggested I enter them Mille Fleur as he expected there would be others entered as the same and wanted me to get to meet the other breeders. Such nice, helpful people.

yep just write AOV splash orpington..you wont be allowed to champion i dont think..but you will be placed..

Salina, I gotta disagree, and I know this is definitely a personal decision, but if a bird or a dog, or a horse, or anything that is a show animal, has a DQ that makes it unshowable, why in the world would you want to "fix" it? Its not like there arent birds, dogs, horses, out there that dont have that fault. Why cheat just to show a bird? Makes no sense to me.....but again that is JMHO and NO that isnt grooming, its cheating!
