I just got 4 lavender english orp eggs from an ebay auction! So excited! Pray for a good hatch!!! I've also got 24 bantam wyandotte eggs and 3 columbian silkie eggs in there....

I would judge according to the size of the chicks. Generally day old chicks are the only ones that fit in the chick boxes due to the height restrictions of the small boxes, or maybe week olds if they are small (or shipping bantams). However, it is my understanding USDA/APHIS shipping laws state that birds older than day olds must weigh more than 6 ounces each in order to ship (legally), 6 ounce chicks probably would not comfortably fit in a chic box.
