The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Just thought I would mention that Heirloom Orpingtons are running daily special on their birds. Every day they mark one of the chicks down to $20.15 each. Yesterday' special was Golden Laced/Blue Laced/White Laced Orpingtons, and today it's Isabel Orpingtons.

And I have "free to a good home" 4 English Blue Orpington cockerls. Eighteen weeks old.

Anyone interested??

Finally took some pics of my new favorites...although the gold laced are still right up there!! These are officially the ONLY chickens I have allowed into my backyard. But, they are so pretty to look at. My lovely girls were finally fertile and then promptly decided to go BROODY on me. Thanks ladies. Do you know how LONG I have been waiting for chicks???!! they lay like champs for 2 months, but Mr. Man wasn't able to do the deed. He finally is good to go ... and broody. Gotta love these english orps! It's Ok I can be patient when they look this good! Thanks Louise for such amazing creatures!!

They are not chicklets anymore. I was not going to keep the Jubilee and sold the ones I had but then there was a couple in the last group I got from you and the rooster is the prettiest Jubilee and one big big boy and not even a year old. I will have to get pictures of him. The Chocolates are beautiful and just starting to lay. I still have lots of other colors of Orps: Golden Laced, Lavender, BBS, White, Red, Red Cuckoo, Black Cuckoo, Crele, Lemon Cuckoo, and my Birchen projects, Lemon Blue projects, my own Golden Laced, and working with Mauve Laced. I have breeding pens set up currently for the get Chocolate Cuckoo, and Blue Cuckoo. You know me I love to dabble with the colors. Of course most of my Orpingtons have their origination with your birds for which I am always grateful.

I am always watching for the next lovely color of Orpingtons.

I would love to see your Lemon Blues! Have been coveting LF Lemon Blue Cochins but I'm just a true blue Orp lover and knew one day someone would come up with that color in an Orpington.

The Lemon Blues are a tough project since they don't breed true. I have been working with them for over 6 years so they are from American blood Orpingtons and don't have the size that the English imports have. I have not wanted to add the English blood yet since it has already been a challenge. I think I posted pictures quite awhile ago of my original rooster which I still have. He is no longer being used but in happy retirement. I have not advertised them since I have seen the mean streaks and nay sayers it has brought when others have introduced new colors. Likely would not get the same response if my name was Keith and I lived in the UK.
