Seriously, just send me the O's.

As I said before, When I see them I always say "ooohhhhh..."

Galanie - I'm glad you like them...but they aren't going anywhere !!

I'm hoping to have some chicks of theirs available this spring/summer though.

Well even if we had to work on the colors, that wouldn't be as bad as having to work on the colors and the type.

I say it is a good idea about the AI.

Julie, thanks for telling me that I need to keep them eight months. That's just music to my ear. I'll just have to figure out how to configure the pens in the big coop once they are a little older.

Joy, I would love it if one of my pullets turned out as nice as either one of the O's. There's a picture on the first page of Octavia, I think, that gives me hope...

As far as more colors, I would love to participate! I have the time and the room. I know NOTHING, so someone would have to say, "Send money here. Breed this guy to this girl." The smaller the words, the better...

OK FINALLY...... got a few pics of my kids from JOY, none are great as they were taken with my iphone. I didn't have time to get my camera out between kids stuff, supper and getting ready for work but.....here goes. Excuse all the other orps. They were jealous that their pics weren't getting taken!

Saphira - my only girl, weird pics but trying to get good rep of her lacing. No her eye doesn't look that weird, not droopy or light

Jester - my favorite of the two cockerels. Comb is much better. He looks as if he's trying to show off a bit, doesn't he??

Scepter - has too many points on his comb and I don't know, just don't prefer him to Jester. Also obviously not as cooperative or "show-offy" HA

Saphira is beautiful!

I typically don't prefer the blacks over the blues either, but your cockerel Jester looks very nice to my novice eye.

I took some new pics today of the girls. They are now 5 months old.

This was the naked one originally thought to be a cockeral. She's so beautiful now!

And these show their size pretty well. Those are 6 inch peeler cores they are next to.

And a question, what size nesting boxes do you all use for these Orps? I'm beginning to worry that a "normal" nesting box won't be large enough. I have a 15X15 nesting box that I made for my broodies, maybe when they are ready to lay, I'll pull it out.

Happy Chooks - They are just lovely !!! Beautiful lacing on both of them. And the little "ostrich"???? WOW....talking about "The Ugly Duckling" turning into a swan !!! Perfect example.

I could not tell you how big our nest boxes are as my husband made them, but they are fairly large. It doesn't matter how big they are, 3-4 of them will try to cram into one anyway !!

Thanks! And yup, the little ostrich decided to prove to everyone that she can be gorgeous too! And she's gaining on her sister in size.

Thanks for the info on the nesting boxes, I was beginning to worry since they are already bigger than my fully grown BCM's. If I need to use my broody nest box, I will.
